loved the origional album so much, i just feel like some of the beats on this album sound super cheap and don't go with the vocals at all
Sounds very similar to the stuff that Bruno Mars has done before. I'm still unbelievably excited for this album tho
What a fantastic album.
While driving through the hills surrounded by greenery I felt myself completely engrossed in this album. Genesis Owusu has such amazing talent both vocally and musically. Personally, I would not put any labels on the genre of this project as it is almost everything that is popularized in today's music culture. First funk, then soul, then rap and industrial rap, and before you know it you're listening to beautiful spoken word and completely breathtaking poetry. The ... read more
my favorite kkb song I've heard yet, cmon man this shit goes way too hard. sounds like some Gameboy game shit. and the vocal editing on the chorus is so fucking good. this is ear porn, I love it.
[Another Pio and @tombejoy listen through]
This is a fantastic french house album with obviously heavy inspiration from daft punk and I even heard shots of abba in the chord progression. This album's sweeping synths were powerful and captivating but did become stagnant towards the end. The album is so amazingly cohesive and the transitions are absolutely flawless but although this is seen as good, Justice seems to shoot themselves in the foot with this. Unfortunately on tracks without vocals, ... read more
fucking flawless album, cant rate it a 100 because imo i believe mbdtf is the best kanye album and although this is fantastic does not top it unfortunately
I just always feel like frank needed more experience before he released an album and is why I feel that blonde is slightly better. With frank, experience to his music is more important to him than the lyrics themselves and I just didn't feel like he was speaking for himself on this album. Apart from that, this album is extremely pretty and I like it a lot, there are some 'filler' tracks that don't hit as hard in my opinion though
Have a good day AOTY and stay safe!
To be entirely honest, i did not enjoy this album as much as I thought I would. Cudi has always been a huge part of my music taste, weather its on a track with kanye or his own stuff I love his work. But this, this just feels forced. Motm one and two both felt so genuine throughout the experience and you could tell it was cudi. I feel like this album stands as the post peak era of cudi and this acts as a last hurahh to what he was before. His inspirations i feel were too upfront and his ... read more
Bonito Bonito Generation is an incredibly adult album despite the childish bubbly exterior. The somewhat obvious themes of the battling of mental health and existentialism seem to be drowned out by the jpop 'kawaii' instrumentals and disjointed bass lines, just as society pushes mental health problems under the rug and wants everyone to just be 'happy'. The themes hit very deeply with me for many reasons and made this listen a very special one for me. For someone who doesn't at all listen to ... read more
