I understood the meaning behind every single line on the first listen

Bro experimented in all the wrong ways. His delivery on Lemon Tree sounds like a frat bro parody of country, the writing on songs like Insane are embarrassingly edgy, the production is as middle of the road and forgettable as it gets and so many bad notes are hit throughout the project. I feel like a pretentious critic saying all that but come on this is hard to listen even casually. Undies dry.

Tbh I kind of expected it to play out like this when I Key Glocks name when this was first announced on Insta. Key Glock ain’t a bad rapper but I think he’s more of a fun hype up kind of guy and he woulda been better on a fun hype up kind of song like Sanjuro or X-Wing not the song about corruption, politics and mental health. Working with the likes of The Alchemist, Daringer and Conway, it’s hard to pinpoint exactly where this album falls short, but it’s clear that this fails to go above and beyond. Action Bronson brings his usual quirkiness with a unique theme to the album, but it just doesn’t stick all that much for me. Still can’t deny that the overall sound is at least above average. This album is great for the casual modern hip hop enjoyer. Fun beats and familiar samples with easy to follow lyrics accompanied by decent enough flows. Fivio gives that casual audience exactly what they want, but he leaves nothing under the surface to look further into. What you hear is what you get, and what you get is nothing groundbreaking. Great for getting your older sister into rap music, boring for the average music review website user. Can’t really complain about that

After recently listening to Funeral and loving what I heard, I was excited to see that they were dropping a new project this year. Man did that excitement not last long. It pains me to say but my undies are dry.

Really high quality hip hop project with great production, solid lyrics and features that hold their weight. However, quality is really the only way this project stands out all that much. Doesn’t seem to take itself too seriously and shouldn’t be overanalyzed. Undies wet, but mostly likely due to the moaning and not the quality.

Reminder that lower energy does not inherently mean worse. While this album might be a step down in production from his self titled, it isn’t fair to write it off as boring and move on. It may not be as wild and memorable as Big Fish Theory, but it’s a step up in most other departments. While it doesn’t have the same off-the-wall memorableness as his past work, Melt My Eyez is a big step up in sound, maturity, and lyracism. Undies soaked.

It's pretty clear that this was a rushed effort to go alongside the Dreamville festival, and while performances like Kenny Mason's addition to Stick would be a blast to hear live, the quality of this tape is really lackluster to hear on streaming. With how massive the label is, I'm surprised these tracks ended up sounding so incomplete. Unfortunately, undies dry.
