Despite a lot to criticize, the one thing that’s hard to call this album is boring
Whether or not you believe this song is directly racist, I think it’s at least important to recognize the dangerous “us vs them” mentality that it creates. While the lyrics are somewhat vague and do not directly state any group of people by name, the song and video do reference the actions of modern day protesters, and while I’m not entirely sure where the clips are taken from I think it’s safe to assume that the political movements being referenced are left-wing ... read more
Meh, I feel like this was just designed to be to be a hit and nothing more. Took two of the biggest stars in the world right now, named it after one of the biggest trending search terms in the world right now, and had one of the safest sounds it could. Don’t see how this could be on the same album as a song with a Westside Gunn feature
idk I feel like this would be a bit better if it was written by a teenager but he is 27
Maybe not the most technically impressive album but man it's ICONIC. Even the non-hits that I haven't heard of before listening to the full thing still feel ICONIC
It seems like it’s been said a million trillion times but I can’t help but feel like Aminé felt a bit lifeless on this. Especially with how charismatic, energetic, and full of personality he is on his other projects. And the features really prove this, they just do a better job complimenting the beat and showing how much potential is here. Especially Mr. Fredward Gibbons. Has some strong points and nothing I’d consider particularly low, but not much I’d return to
Idk how to describe this album without sounding like a complete loser nerd so I just won't even bother, the scores speak for themselves. Also Closer is one of the wildest hit songs ever, crazy that I would hear it as a small child lol
Going from Slate to a Cordae song when shuffling my music library made me realize how much my music taste has shifted over the last couple years and it’s hard to go back
Played this to my Amazon Alexa and now she don’t know how to act
