while nowhere near the quality of From Mars To Sirius and takes a slight holdback on the prog elements, it’s still one of the angriest and grooviest albums I’ve ever heard
Gojira perfectly blend ethereality and brutality in the grandest and heaviest hour and 7 minutes I have ever heard.
constant stank face throughout except the acoustic pieces that are still good
This is so weird to rate/review because I can’t really put into words what this album has done to me. It’s so much more than a score. It’s so damn hard for me to listen to this and give my opinion because it’s just crushing. Each swell and groan of instrumentation is like a knife, and it cuts deep. I love listening to every second of this, from front to back, but I feel hurt each time I do. What an album.
That perfect mix of anger, mourning, and hope.
It’s so wild, but not like a laugh-out-loud wild. It’s more intriguing than that.
I’d also like to mention that the last 30 seconds of Goodbye Sober Day is the scariest section in music.
From its loudest to its quietest, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea perfects whatever it’s trying to do.
