the day logic messed up an album with killer mike black thought Chuck D J Cole and Juicy J was the day we should’ve known there wouldn’t be more good music from him for a while
favorites Africaryan (one of the best cole verses in a while) America (logics best performance imo on the whole album) Hallelujah (excluding the skit ofc, this was musically the highlight after this song i had hopes for the album. even those songs i don’t listen to or have in a playlist they were just ... read more
this series is so overrated in my opinion, like it’s good but damn it’s been 9 years and this is still remembered in high regard,
uzis best project imo and one of the best trap tapes ever i want to review this but i have nothing to say it just slaps lmao, i value consistency a lot and while the highs on every uzi tape are about equally amazing this one had the highest low points and is definitely the most fun listen to me from front to back compared to his other tapes. i’d suggest checking out this tape on soundcloud or some other mixtape service because while i love the songs on streaming it’s the songs that ... read more

I JUST HIT A LICK WITH A MASK MF DOOM
highlights: kanye and cudi both had great features production was great there’s bangers all throughout but the first quarter and last quarter were both equally amazing and stood out
the first song was mixed very weirdly with his voice way above the beat and it really worked his vocals at the part where he says “even when i’m at my fuckin show i keep it tucked” were truly amazing to me, i love the song with ... read more
Dang! and God is Fair (minus the long ass speech) should’ve been released as singles way too many of these tracks drag unnecessarily long killing any charm they had, to be fair it was his first attempt at a not completely rap album and he would get this sound down with his next album
the concept of this record quite clearly has a bit to do with his drug use still and is somewhat similar to that of faces but this one a little more complex and imo well focused. even the title of the album has a deeper meaning that was well executed the way i interpret it “Watching movies with the sound off” refers to when high off acid/mushrooms/molly it is common to watch a movie but play music instead of the movie volume and your high mind connects the dots. Mac miller was a ... read more
I, despite being a big fan of every single release since WMWTSO and a big psychadelic user (relevant because of the albums topics and the fact that this is a fucking classic to druggies) in the same way that i’ll sit through many episodes of a good tv show for 5 hours, but won’t click on a 2 hour movie bcuz it feels too long, i‘ll listen to albums for 3-4 hours a day sometimes since quarantine but a 90 minute album, that loses me right away. i strongly regret that, this was ... read more
SMOKIN SO MUCH GAS I FORGOT TO PUT MY MASK ON
favorites: Iphone (top 10 song of the year for me),OHFR, Smack a Bitch, Let it Out
honestly not as good as i was excepting based on the debut album, the trailer, the producers, what i know about how talented rico is and how much i like loud hip hop. it’s not bad, in fact there’s only song i really did not like but there was only a couple songs in my playlist also.
not really a review but i hate how overshadowed this was by Undun (i do prefer undun still and understand why it overshadowed this) but this is worth a listen also to say the leasttt. i love the sound of this record it’s a very dreamy and incredibly well produced album and and it has some amazing songs and instrumentals that have already been sampled many times.
this score will go up once i understand the album, that’s my current enjoyment of it but that’s admittedly due to this album feeling like absolute nonsense, but in a way that’s the point of all aesop’s work (on a first listen) and especially this one as he seems to be painting a fantasy land. i love aesop impossible kid was one of my favorites of the 2010s and i can tell i love this album. EDIT; i love every song i’ve heard multiple times, can tell this will be a ... read more
...at least this proved how unreplacable thug is, all his clones were weak asf on this
after years of killing features and dropping fire singles which up to this point had been put on some above average and enjoyable but not necessarily memorable albums but this one’s different. it’s got a couple of skips but it’s got 8 songs still in my main playlist and it’s an album i play somewhat often. the features killed it too, travis scott came through on a great hook swae lee had my favorite hook from him ever on here, migos killed it. not amazing but definitely ... read more
was excited, use to like kodak 2017 and this was his first reasonably sized project yet it somehow was one of his worst. just felt very focused, boring (despite being 25 minutes) and was a lot of just unfinished sounding tracks, the only 2 cuts off here i liked at all are “Eeny Meeny Miny Moe” which was alright almost a very good track, and “Remember The Times” which i love
not only was this horrible but i was expecting to like it since i really liked project baby 2 and he’d been improving this makes me mad
even if you hate Kodak PLEASE listen to “Change My Ways” that song goes stupiddd still and it’s been 4 years
i remember only listening to this the night it dropped cuz me and a couple friends at school always argue about the new drops on friday. i went in expecting to hate it, as did one of my friends, while the other one loved kodak all 3 of us ended up really liking it. his voice doesn’t annoy me on this one for some reason most likely the great production and even 4 ... read more
this thing is filled with jazzy production and funny ass one liners, an album i really loved on first listen and, I still really like it, however i can’t quite put my finger on why but there’s just not many songs i like off this when not listening to the album, i’ve heard people say that about TPAB “you can’t just play any song from tpab it’s a album experience” and while i agree there’s still a ton of tracks on there i like outside of it, while ... read more
