Whitesnake - Saints & Sinners
76

A good album from Whitesnake but only has two standout tracks Here I Go Again and Crying in the Rain which are both epic. Both these songs are way better than the disappointing 1987 remakes. The rest of the album is mostly singalong catchy songs which ain’t a bad thing.

Squeeze - Sweets from a Stranger
87

The most underrated Squeeze album by a long way. I personally prefer this to East Side Story. Best tracks are Points of View , The Elephant Ride , Tongue Like a Knife , Black Coffee in Bed , Out Of Touch and I Can’t Hold On. There are a few weak tracks but why all the hate? Brilliant

Steve Perry - Street Talk
90

Great songs and great vocals make a Great album. Most of these songs could have been on any 80s Journey album as they are really high quality stuff. Captured by the Moment is probably one of the best songs of any artist that 99% of music lovers have never heard of. A sort of hidden gem. I Believe is the only track of the original album that I don’t like. Stand out songs are Captured by the Moment , Go Away , It’s Only Love , Running Alone , Foolish Heart and Strung Out. Of the bonus ... read more

Queen - Queen II
93

No other bands first two albums are as complicated or professional as Queens’. A taster of things to come it seems. Side White/Side Black - genius. I loved this album the first time I heard it. From May’s Father to Son and White Queen to Mercury’s Ogre Battle through Seven Seas of Rhye brilliant in every way. I think Funny How Love Is sounds like it could have been from the Larry Lurex sessions. Overall an outstanding album from possibly the best group ever. Always wondered ... read more

Neil Young - Harvest Moon
94

After hearing Harvest Moon single when it was released I decided to buy the cd album. It was a good decision as this is one of my favourite albums of all time. Still playing this over 30 years later. Standout tracks are Harvest Moon , Unknown Legend , War of Man and One of these days. Recommended

KISS - Unmasked
84

Don’t really understand all the hate for this album. Stanley and Simmons sounding great on this album (Simmons singing with his real voice and not put on) . Sounds quality is better than most of their 70s albums . Standout songs are Easy As It Seems, Shandi , She’s So European and Is That You.

Pet Shop Boys - Please
94

Best debut pop album of the 80s. Every track on here is very good. Standout tracks are West End Girls , Love Comes Quickly , Later Tonight and Two Divided By Zero.

Nirvana - MTV Unplugged in New York
91

Probably the best official release by Nirvana , Some great Nirvana tracks mixed with some great cover versions. Best tracks are About a Girl , Dumb , Jesus Doesn’t Want Me For a Sunbeam and The Man Who Sold the World. Acoustic brilliance.

Queen - Queen
90

One of the best debut albums in the history of music. Some stunning tracks and early signs of brilliance. 70s Queen were brilliant. Best songs are Keep Yourself Alive , Liar , My Fairy King and The Night Comes Down.

Michael Jackson - Thriller
91

The most inspiring album from the 80s pop scene. Listened to this loads and still love it. Best tracks are Billie Jean , The Lady in my Life , Beat It and Human Nature.

The Weeknd - Dawn FM
89

Probably the best pop album that I have heard this century. Standout tracks are Less Than Zero , Out of Time , Here We Go Again and Best Friends.

Boston - Third Stage
95

A stunning album from start to finish. Great production and Stunning vocals from Brad Delp. Standout tracks are Amanda , My Destination , To Be a Man , Hollyann and I Think I Like It. Fantastic album , one of the best of the 80s.

KISS - Destroyer
86

One of my favourite 70s albums. Every track on this album is very good except Sweet Pain. Standout songs Detroit Rock City , Do You Live Me , Great Expectations , Shout it out Loud and King of the Nighttime World.

R.E.M. - Automatic for the People
94

I don’t like R.E.M but this is right up there with my favourite albums. Just something about every song that makes this album so great. Standout songs are Drive , Man on the Moon , Find the River , Everybody Hurts and Sweetness follows.

Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV
96

Iconic album full of timeless songs. First listened to this reading the lyrics on the inner cover of Stairway to Heaven and was instantly in love with song. Standout tracks are Black Dog , Battle of Evermore , Going to California and Stairway to Heaven.

Saxon - The Eagle Has Landed
92

Not sure how much this album has been edited but this is one of the best live albums I have heard. Amongst the heavy tracks are some great lyrics and catchy songs with great vocals. Standout tracks are 747 Strangers in the Night , Strong Arm of the Law , 20,000 Feet , Princess of the Night and Heavy Metal Thunder.

Squeeze - Some Fantastic Place
96

Brilliant lyrics , catchy tunes , great vocals. One of the best albums of the 90’s. Stand out tracks are Some Fantastic Place , Third Rail , It’s Over and Pinocchio. Pop perfection.

The Zombies - Odessey and Oracle
95

Hadn’t heard of this album until about 6 years ago. Glad I discovered it as it is another masterpiece. From the brilliant first track right throughout to the last track the album grows on you. It is better than similar stuff that the Beatles were putting out in the late 60s and possibly the best album of that decade. It is a shame 95% of music listeners have never and will never hear this album. Standout tracks are Care of Cell 44 , Emily ,Maybe After He’s Gone ,Beechwood Park and ... read more

93

A photo finish between this and LED Zeppelin 4 for their best album. Stand out tracks are The Rain Song , Dancing Days , No Quarter , D’yer Mak’er and The Song Remains the Same. Just listen and enjoy. Brilliant.

Queen - A Night at the Opera
92

2nd best Queen album in my opinion behind Races. Very clever songwriting and musical arrangements. Standout tracks are Death on Two Legs , You’re My Best Friend , The Prophet’s Song , Live of my Life and obviously Bohemian Rhapsody. Another gem.
