you’d think with how popular he is there would be more reviews at least from, like, a fanbase or the stans.
weird.
anyways this was not good.
play this during golden hour at a large family reunion and it will fit perfectly.
i remember when Cake’s “Showroom of Compassion” came out, John said that it was kinda just a lounge album, you just put it on and relax. this is First Aid Kit’s equivalent to that.
lounging is really nice.

imagine if the lead vocalist of The Brave Little Abacus had no personality whatsoever and was allowed to upload his FL Studio project files straight into DistroKid.
yeah, it’s like THAT.
an absolute ripper. a bit too homogenized for it to have a terrific impact, but it is still definitely definitely DEFINITELY worth a once through.

i think i listened to Connie’s 2019 album? you can obviously see how much of an impression it left on me.
this one also can’t help but feel like wallpaper from time to time but, hell, it’s at least got a persona. the middle portion has some great cuts, but is book ended pretty weakly.

the poetical dingbat has made a softer release. it’s fine. nothing amazing. nothing bad either. some of the production is fire. i listen to ark doors again but that’s kinda it.

this album is the equivalent of falling asleep after you nut and not helping your partner finish.
yes, i've listened to Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. it's fine. okay? it's FINE. not great, not bad, not a masterpiece, not a masterful piece of shit. it's fine.
now THIS album? it's fine. okay? it's FINE. not great, not bad, not a masterpiece, not a masterful piece of shit. it's fine.

i was really nervous about this at first. the first song is the worst song on here. the structure is that of refried beans. it is aimless. it's also Olivia's worst vocal performance on the album...
...and after that are 11 more cuts that prove she is so much more than what the first impression might lead you to believe. not only do her performances become much more confident and captivating, but the melodies with them are absolutely gorgeous. and i mean, GORGEOUS. i never thought i would NOT want Sampa The Great on a song but today i was proven wrong.
any song without a feature on it minus Kojey is pretty tight. if the pianist was any deeper in the pocket, he'd be lint.
