remember those old school Skittles commercials where there was the guy that touched stuff and it turned into Skittles? listening to album is like the guy touched my ears and they turned into Skittles. like, as an adult, i know they aren't good for me and it's mostly sugar, but god dammit there's just some instances where you feel like "fuck it, i need me some god damn Skittles".
this album is what it feels like to have a complicated relationship with Skittles, aight?

this is honestly kinda underrated okay.
not SUPER underrated, just KINDA underrated.

i'm gonna go listen to For Those I Love to get this bad taste out of my mouth.
this project has a weird sentimentality to me even though i’ve barely listened to anything Jordaan Mason has made. when 2010 came around when i was starting to peruse /mu/ (and 4chan in general), as well as starting to upload my first band’s music to Bandcamp, their album “Divorce Lawyers I Shaved My Head” and Shake Graves’ “Roll The Bones” were taking both platforms in a quiet storm. i periodically listen to “Roll The Bones” to this day, ... read more
listen man, Oxygene is one of my favorite electronic albums, like, EVER, of COURSE i’m gonna listen to this. why nobody else has, i’m not really sure. it almost feels like disrespecting the greats. like shitting on the Mona Lisa. okay, maybe not THAT bad
old people can make some very silly wubs sometimes. when this project gets wubby, it’s kinda laughable. SEX IN THE MACHINE sounds like some really miserable sex. mans can’t perform cunnilingus worth a damn. when ... read more
the way this guy raps is kinda like he’s a lyrical spiritual miracle or something idk.

it mostly feels like falling down a wormhole of gooey gooey and the gooey gooey is :):):):).
very nice to listen to, but goddamn if i barely remember what i heard.

top marks for not tryin’.
there’s a bachelor party of dudes in their late 20s and they are smoking cigars by a fire. one of the outliers is in charge of putting on something fitting. he puts this on. it sounds good on his nice Bluetooth speaker…to only him. the others start snoring. the best man is buzzed off of Makers Mark and nicotine. he takes over and puts on Lil Dicky instead.
anyways this doesn’t have too much to do with the album, i was just pretty bored ... read more
if the prior albums were just the bone, this is actually the meat and potatoes.
for real, i remember my first experience with Frankie Cosmos and i heard “Jessie” and the skeletal guitar with these shrill vocals and i was all up in that grill like “where is the BEEF”.
steps in the right direction!!!

she keeps it simple. she doesn't go too wild. Carly doesn't make anything that's too far out, she doesn't reinvent the wheel, she doesn't try to get too pretentious. she sticks to her guns, for the better.
as my local burger place describes their plain cheeseburger: "why mess with greatness?"

okay that album he released in 2020 called "Twenty Nine" was actually fire, i didn't realize he released thirty-twelve albums since then. nonetheless, seeing this made me pretty excited.
i can't really say i'm disappointed, but i'm just not as amped by this project like prior. the performance aspect is still pretty good, it just lacks that grit that was there before. it also feels like it takes this album a LOOOONG time to get moving. it's good once it gets there! it's just gotta, ... read more
awwww shiiiiiit man lemme pop in a lip ring and get my AXE body spray, this local show is gonna be so good! i've been crushing on this girl from another school so you probably don't know her, but she's got this really big black hair and the Skillet tee, i think i'm gonna ask her if she wants to go with us to Denny's after the show. can you give me a ride, by the way? i'll just sit in the back and play Pokemon on my Gameboy Advance SP, yeah the new red one i got, you won't even know i'm ... read more
full transparency, i'm starting this album because i saw Madlib had the beat on "Georgetown". i don't know who Loyle Carner is. i live under my American rock. the rock is very stinky.
i can confirm the beat on "Georgetown" is in fact good.
...yeah that's about what i have to say.
4. Speed Of Plight - 4.0
i can't believe Lana went from smoking weed by the beach to snorting coke on the beach.
as a die hard Beatles fan in my youth, i never payed too much attention with my sister's obsession of The Beach Boys. it was kind of our quarrel. we never really heard the other's discography at all, but we still aimlessly yapped at each other on how our respective music choices were superior to the other. now that we've grown, she listens to zero Beach Boys and i pretty much on revisit Revolver and Abbey Road. why that is? i dunno.
i should've probably listened to my sister, because this is ... read more
my hot take is that the length of the album adds into the title of the album.
i think i was engaged with this from the onset until about track 11 and then i kinda just became annoyed. not horrible, just definitely overstating it's welcome.
are we there yet?
