This band just makes me so happy. Everything they write is so fun. They have the perfect amount of silliness while also having some of the most dancible instrumentals in the modern metalcore space.
Kinda shocked that this hadn't even been uploaded to the site,as it certainly seems like a release core kids on aoty would enjoy. This is some of the most Zao coded metalcore ever released by a band that isn't Zao. The vocalist has an incredibly piercing shriek and the instrumentals match his aggression to create a great modern metalcore release.
Highlight: Praise and Worship(that breakdown is so raw)
Low Point: No Grave Deep Enough(still great revivalcore)
This was a decent nu-metalcore album that is fairly heavy and fjn in the gym. The record scratches get a little annoying but the album overall is fairly solid. For those of you who enjoy nu-metalcore and beatdown, you'll probably like it.
Highlights: Born to Break, XXXL
Low Points: Petty Fuck, Learning Tools
I LOVE AUGUST BURNS RED!!! This song is a great evolution of their signature sound, the stretch from the solo to the end is among some of the coolest guitar work the band has ever done. Also gotta say I love the lyrics to this one, ABR is one of the best at writing inspiring and motivational lyrics in the game. Absolutely stoked for the new album
When I think back on what I just listened to, the firat thing I think of is all the static noise throughout the album, and while I love some static noise in my metalcore, it being the first thing that comes to mind isn't necessarily a good thing. There were some super sick heavy songs here though, but "Buster" was a much stronger release than this album. I am not doing song rankings because I cannot read Arabic and therefore do not know which track is which lmao.
I kinda hate that my favorite song of the year so far is meme hardcore but god damn it, Big Ass Truck brings me so much joy. That breakdown at the end of the song is also intense af, it brings out the inner caveman in a way that a song hasn't done for me in a hot minute.
"Pure Light" by Wiltwither is a relatively ambitious album for modern djenty metalcore. It's a lot of fun if you enjoy the vibes of bands like Fromjoy or Soulkeeper, although it's nowhere near as spastic as those two albums. This release shows a ton of potential for this band in the future, but aside from a couple songs I likely won't be regularly returning to it. It's still a good experience as an album though and I strongly recommend it to any modern metalcore ... read more
This is the most 2012 metalcore album that ever metalcored in 2012. If all of the scene was half as skilled as these guys during this era I don't think metalcore as a genre would have lost respect of the music community. Sure, there are still some cheesy bits sprinkled across "Chapters," but the technical and fast guitar riffs alongside great harsh vocal range more than make up for it. It had been a few years since I'd last listened to this release, so I was unsure if it ... read more
Thanks to @Darien17 for this recommendation! I enjoyed this ep quite a bit! This release reminded me a lot of modern Like Moths to Flames, another solid band in the modern djent scene, but there are also some pieces of Stray From The Path in their sound, particularly the vocals. I'm surprised this release didn't get more attention because it is very well produced and played. Heavily recommend this to fans of the modern metal scene, as it is both reminiscent of some great bands ... read more
Thanks for the recommendation from @benparton! This was a really sick album released during the classic metallic hardcore era. The vocals in particular bring that raw edge that makes early metalcore special, and the album feels pretty ambitious for 1996. I'd heard of Indecision before but I'd never checked them out, and I am just now discovering that they are very underrated.

Hoping and praying this isn't an AI cover again but it looks like it might be. I don't 100% know one way or the other though, so I am going to solely judge the song here, and as a certified ABR glazer it bangs. This is one of the heaviest songs they've done in a minute, and the china cymbals are back in full force. Heavily recommend to all my fellow ABR fans.
I keep hearing this in shitposts on instagram but it goes kinda hard lmao
There are a couple really sick tracks on this album, but overall it does become a little samey when listening to it front to back. The sound it goes for is pretty cool though, so that isn't entirely a bad thing. It's a mix of djenty sounds with a bit of mathcore, not as djenty as Car Bomb or Frontierer and not as raw and mathy as Converge or Norma Jean, but a middle ground between the two. I see a lot of potential from this band, and I am excited to hear their new upcoming project. ... read more
WE are Charlie Kirk? Not me though, I'm not Charlie Kirk, I'm Samuel
Love Is Not Enough is everything I could have possibly wanted from a new Converge release and more. This is the first real Converge I have been a part of the hype cycle for, and it is their first true album in over 8 years. This band has been around for 30 years and they have yet to release a dud, it is truly insane how consistent they have been. I could certainly be biased from the sheer hype of this album's release, but I honestly believe that it stands tall among the best this band ... read more
I've been waiting for this shit to drop all day. This is an insane collab, Denzel Curry is a massive artist and seeing him collab with ANY metalcore artist just blows my god damn mind. Knocked Loose also pulled off the combination of their sound with Curry's surprisingly well, I was curious how they would pull off incorporating rap when they haven't even had clean vocals before but they made it sound pretty natural for the most part. The very first part of Denzel's ... read more
