Interesting to hear Lamb of God trying new things after sticking to their tried and true formula for so long. This shook things up in the best possible way. I think that nearly everything they've released across their career has been great, but this is possibly the most interesting song they've released in nearly two decades.
I really do hate to give this album a yellow score considering how much I love Dying Wish. Their last album, "Symptoms of Survival" is potentially one of my favorite metalcore albums ever released, but on "Flesh Stays Together," Dying Wish take a new approach that lacks about everything that made their previous two outings so good. "Flesh Stays Together" goes for a much more vocally focused sound, it's only natural that they do when they have such a strong ... read more
Atomic Rule is the third band to come out of the Every Time I Die breakup, and it might just be the most interesting project of the three, ironically because it is the one that tries the least to sound like ETID. Andy Williams brings over some of the chaos of his former band, but it feels like he is doing more than just attempting to replicate that sound. The other two ETID successors, Better Lovers and Many Eyes, feel like they are trying a little too hard to retread the same ground we heard ... read more
Godseyes are possibly the most underrated band in the entire metalcore scene. They are a mathcore band in vein of Norma Jean, The Chariot, and ETID, and they are honestly the best to do this sound since ETID broke up. The drums in this song have that loose feel that The Chariot brought on their masterpiece "Long Live" and the breakdown is singlehandedly the grooviest of the whole year. This song is truly something special and I am glad to have discovered such a hidden gem of a ... read more
This is the best Better Lovers have sounded since they came out with a vengeance two years ago on their debut ep. Greg really went crazy on this one, the scream at around 1:25 may be the wildest one he's ever recorded. The former ETID boys worked their usual magic with some sick, complex, southern style riffs and technical drums that bounce seamlessly between grooves.
This is definitely the least heavy track out of the singles so far, but that doesn't make it bad by any means. Greyhaven are killer at writing memorable hooks and choruses, and this song is no different. The instrumental is also one of the most atmospheric that I remember hearing from this band, and the clean riff at the start may be my favorite riff the band has written this album cycle. The breakdown at the end is a little cliche but I honestly don't care because they killed that ... read more
With Join Us In Creating Excellence Soulkeeper continue to evolve their sound taking things in an even heavier and more chaotic direction than their previous releases. I knew this album was going to be a banger as soon as I heard the title track when they released it as a single. This year has had a ton of really good breakdowns, but the one at the start of this song really stands out as one of the best for me. Soulkeeper really tow the line on production with this ep, managing to do a ton ... read more
Demon Hunter is a band that is very special to me. They are the band that helped my edgy young teenage self transition from butt rock to metal, something that left a huge impact on me to this day. While they aren't a top five band for me anymore, they were my absolute favorite band for a very long time and I will always love and appreciate their discography. The band's last album, "Exile," unfortunately did not do a whole lot for me. It sounded decent but in my opinion ... read more
Chat does anyone have have kill karl x ronnie radke mpreg? Ithink this would be very wholesome fanart!🥰
This is a perfectly decent album. It does not do a lot to stand out but it is executed just fine. I miss Vein though, Errorzone is one of the coolest mathcore albums I've ever heard to this day, and while members have confirmed Vein is not dead, I'm unsure of the focus they will put on it with how successful Fleshwater has been. I don't want to hate on this new album just to bitch about Vein, but the comparisons between the two projects make it more difficult for me to get ... read more
Primeval: Obsession // Detachment is honestly the most fun I've had with a Tallah album. Fans of the band might view that as blasphemy but I loved everything about this record, which is pretty impressive for nu metal. This album embraces the rawer sound that not enough music goes for nowadays. It's not recorded all in one take, but the instrumental was recorded live without a click track, and vocalist Justin Bonitz did actually do the entire album from front to back. I very much ... read more
So I was pretty much done checking out PRESIDENT's new music, but this morning this song had a score in the 70s so I figured I might as well check it out. This is still definitely not for me. Everything about this band feels very uninspired to me, from the generic octanecore sound to the masked musician trend that every alt metal band seems to be going for nowadays. The fact that this has blown up as much as it has astounds me, while there are plenty of modern metal bands I dislike, at ... read more
The collab is awesome but the song itself does not hit as hard as it could have imo. It's decent, but both Courtney and Poppy are underutilized. The songwriting is also just typical alt metal that doesn't do much to stand out.
We got pleasant melodies in a Chat Pile song before gta 6
Who the hell is Anton and why do so many pop albums want me to Jack Antonoff
I do think this is going to be an amazing album, but I am beginning to miss Dying Wish's more melodic sound of their past two records. Symptoms of Survival perfectly balanced the metallic hardcore sound with the melodeath inspired melodic metalcore sound of the past and I find the riffs somewhat lacking on these past two songs. Don't get me wrong, I love chuggy metalcore that just goes hard af for the whole song, but I'm an even bigger fan of heavy music that works in melodic ... read more
