Veil of Maya - [m]other
75

Apparently this is the worst Veil of Maya album but jokes on you I haven't heard those yet so I can't be disappointed.
Highlights: [re]connect, Synthwave Vegan
Low Points: Death Runner, Godhead

Wage War - Manic
54

I may not have given this a high rating but this album is proof to me that Wage War is capable of doing something absolutely incredible. Mixed among the butt rock and super generic metalcore stuff are some great songs.
Highlights: Manic, Death Roll
Low Points: Never Said Goodbye, True Colors

Swashbuckle - Back to the Noose
79

AAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH

Falling In Reverse - Last Resort (Reimagined)
1

Takes a nu metal song I'm already not a big fan of, gets rid of the only part that makes it decent(the riffs), and adds Ronnie Radke to the mix. No thank you.

Converge - Axe To Fall
98

One of the best mathcore albums of all time imo. Still has definite weak points but GOD DAMN the peaks are high.
Highlights: Dark Horse(better opener than Concubine fight me), Axe to Fall, Cutter
Low Points: Cruel Bloom, Losing Battle

Ghost Atlas - Dust Of The Human Shape
52

A good but largely forgettable album. I enjoyed my time listening to it and the vocals were great but I'll probably completely forget about it by next week.

Kublai Khan TX - Theory of Mind
90

MONKEY SEE MONKEY DO

Avralize - HIGHER
87

Between Elwood Stray, Unprocessed, and now this upcoming album, metalcore fans with love for good basslines have been EATING

All the Damn Vampires - (O)rdinary [Synthwave Edition]
20

As someone who liked libad, the original song was already the absolute worst off of that album and this improved it a little bit but it's still ASS

85

Rage Against the Machine walked so that Limp Bizkit could run

'68 - Give One, Take One
72

It's still '68 doing '68 things but it doesn't hit as hard as a lot of their other stuff.
Highlights: The Knife, The Knife, The Knife, Lovers in Death
Low Points: Nervous Passenger, Life and Debt(shame because it has some of my fav lyrical content oj the album)

NR

Name a label with more stacked bands than SHITWANK RECORDS. That's right, you can't.

The Ghost Inside - Wash It Away
45

I really wanted to like this track a lot more

Etienne Sin - Sinna, Vol. 1
NR

Now THIS is REAL metal

One Morning Left - Emerald Dragon
95

Listened for the Jake Luhrs feature, stayed for the VIBES

80

I finally convinced myself to like this lol. I didnt enjoy the repetition at first but after I got past that I actually enjoyed this a decent amount.

Darkest Hour - Perpetual Terminal
100

2024s aoty no point in anyone else even trying

Betraying The Martyrs - GODSPEED

Best song by this band. Such a shame ir was their last but I'd rather they end off on a high note ig.

"You can just explain why you don't like it without trying to undermine everyone who does. Just because it isn't as good as Jane Doe doesn't make everyone who loves the album a fake metal fan who gets their taste from Fantano. Personally I think this a great blend of their rawer mathier stuff and more atmospheric sludge metal tracks. I Won't Let You Go is one of my favorite Converge tracks because imo it has one of their most memorable riffs and I enjoyed the sludgey progression of other tracks such as Detonator. You don't have to like the album but the way you are talking in this review is just as pretentious as the hipsters you claim to hate."

"Glad you enjoyed this. People can say what they want about it being "another abr album" but if I go to a steakhouse I want a quality steak not something else to eat you get me. ABR have a distinct sound and I'm happy to hear more from them whenever they put something out, this may be a top 3 record from them."

"@HomeSession3 I think there is a solid chance you enjoy it since you gave Phantom Anthem an 80. The melodic riffs are very reminiscint of that era of the band but executed a little better imo. It's definitely better than Guardians or Death Below at the very least, but to be fair I'm very biased towards this band in particular lmao."

"I liked the song but yeah I miss the melodic riffs. Death Is Little More felt like an evolution on August Burns Red and Misery Signals while this feels more like what the rest of the metalcore scene is doing. I think they write good angry shit though so I'm ok with it. Plus I'll take it over the recent Dying Wish any day tbh."

On Benparton's review of Converge - Love Is Not Enough
"Highly recommend Axe To Fall. It's their most melodic album but it's still got the signature Converge chaos. All We Love We Leave Behind and No Heroes are also both great albums, and Bloodmoon is a really cool gothic metal project where they completely changed their sound up."
