Training For Utopia - Out On Parole
98

Training For Utopia released the best Demon Hunter song in years

Mick Gordon - DOOM Eternal (Original Game Soundtrack)
92

The only thing they fear is you is straight up the best video game song of all time

John Williams - Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker
59

Very disappointing final score of the saga

John Williams - Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
90

Movie doesn't really hold up to the franchise but the score sure as hell does

While She Sleeps - DOWN
50

This track did nothing for me

Texas In July - Without Reason
95

Easily the best EP of 2023 imo. Every single song is memorable and the performances are super tight. New music from Texas in July was the last thing I expected from this year but I'm so glad it happened.

August Burns Red - Lost Messengers: The Outtakes
77

Pretty good. Mosely may be ABR' most underrated song tbh it's peak.

Impending Doom - Last Days
78

Doesnt quite hit the same highs as their last ep but still great

Knosis - The Eternal Doom
81

What the hell is this lmao

Esperanza Spalding - Radio Music Society
88

These songs are very smooth and pleasant to listen to. When I listened to this album I did not expect it to be peak.
Highlights: Endangered Species, Crowned and Kissed
Low Points Cinnamon Tree, Vague Suspicions

Killswitch Engage - As Daylight Dies (Special Edition)
NR

One of the most iconic metalcore albums of all time and for good reason.
Highlights: My Curse, Daylight Dies, This Fire
Low Points: Desperate Times, Let the Bridges Burn

Sepultura - Roots
88

Its like Pantera but they're Brazilian instead of racist. Seriously though this album is phenomenal, I loved how they mixed in the traditional Brazilian music throughout the album.
Highlights: Roots Bloody Roots, Ratamahatta
Low Points: Canyon Jam

Metallica - 72 Seasons
51

๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ˜ด
Highlights: Lux Æterna, 72 Seasons
Low Points: I don't even remember tbh the highlights were the only two tracks above a 5/10

Killswitch Engage - Alive or Just Breathing
99

If you don't like KsE I don't like you.
Highlights: My Last Serenade, Numbered Days, Rise Inside
Low Points: none

Unprocessed - ...and everything in between
97

Highlights: Purgatory, Abysm, Thrash
Low Points: I Wish I Wasn't, Glass

jaimie branch - Fly or Die Fly or Die Fly or Die ((world war))
75

The brass parts are incredible in this. Sometimes the vocals get a bit to repetitive for my taste but this is a super solid jazz album.
Highlights: burning grey, bolinko bass
Low Points: the mountain

Vildhjarta - + kristallfågel +
98

What a great song to start off on for this band. I had heard of them before and was interested in them but didn't check them out until I saw that a new single released. This was absolutely incredible and now I can't wait to check out the rest of their discography. (If any fans are reading this feel free to reccommend which album to start with)

Hollow Front - The Fear of Letting Go
52

just decent modern metalcore that doesn't really do anything new. I enjoyed it but nothing really wowed me. The track with JT Cavey was nice though.

"You can just explain why you don't like it without trying to undermine everyone who does. Just because it isn't as good as Jane Doe doesn't make everyone who loves the album a fake metal fan who gets their taste from Fantano. Personally I think this a great blend of their rawer mathier stuff and more atmospheric sludge metal tracks. I Won't Let You Go is one of my favorite Converge tracks because imo it has one of their most memorable riffs and I enjoyed the sludgey progression of other tracks such as Detonator. You don't have to like the album but the way you are talking in this review is just as pretentious as the hipsters you claim to hate."

"Glad you enjoyed this. People can say what they want about it being "another abr album" but if I go to a steakhouse I want a quality steak not something else to eat you get me. ABR have a distinct sound and I'm happy to hear more from them whenever they put something out, this may be a top 3 record from them."

"@HomeSession3 I think there is a solid chance you enjoy it since you gave Phantom Anthem an 80. The melodic riffs are very reminiscint of that era of the band but executed a little better imo. It's definitely better than Guardians or Death Below at the very least, but to be fair I'm very biased towards this band in particular lmao."
On benny_hxc's review of Boundaries - Death will follow me
"I liked the song but yeah I miss the melodic riffs. Death Is Little More felt like an evolution on August Burns Red and Misery Signals while this feels more like what the rest of the metalcore scene is doing. I think they write good angry shit though so I'm ok with it. Plus I'll take it over the recent Dying Wish any day tbh."

On Benparton's review of Converge - Love Is Not Enough
"Highly recommend Axe To Fall. It's their most melodic album but it's still got the signature Converge chaos. All We Love We Leave Behind and No Heroes are also both great albums, and Bloodmoon is a really cool gothic metal project where they completely changed their sound up."
