No breakdowns to be found in this "music"
Where are the badass guitar riffs? Where is the screaming? Such a disappointing album. I can't believe Beethoven sold out.
It's actually insane how much better than the original album this is. Definitely the best thing to come out of the remixed albums by ABR. I don't even have any desire to listen to the original album bc of how much better this one is lol. The original is still good though.
Really wish it wasa more common thing for metal bands to release instrumentals of their albums like this so that i could play artists I like around people who don't like "screamo."
Didnt expect john skillet to make such a solid metal release but here we are
Some great stuff to be found here but the album is just way too long. Almost eery single track could be cut down by 2 or 3 minutes and the album would be better off.
A lot of people probably wanted something heavier and won't like this, but I think this is their best song so far personally. The bass here really clicks with me.
Some of Oh, Sleepers best songs can be found on this ep. The last two tracks in particular are PEAK
They are ABSOLUTELY milking these songs lmao but these are also some of my favorite songs of all time so I am alright with getting new versions of them every once in a while. Also as far as I know, this is the first time they have released instrumental versions of these two songs, which is nice. Instrumental versions of albums really need to be normalized in metal for most albums in my opinion.
This is my favorite song of all time. It encompasses absolutely everything I love about metalcore and has what I consider to be the best breakdown of all time. Something about the way the drum beats, the rthymic guitar, the vocals, and the eventual quiet melody from the other guitar click with my brain more than any other song I've heard.
Hot take but Tuck is one of the best clean vocalists in metalcore and is VERY underutilized in everything FFAK has done since this album. The album itself aside from the vocals is also very well done and definitely some of their best work.
Highlights: Selfish Eyes, Young and Undeserving, The Final Thoughts of a Dying Man
Low Points: Cleanse My Soul
As much as I want to give this album a 100, it does have a couple songs that I usually skip when they come on. This may be nostalgia talking, as this was the band that got me into metalcore, but at its peak, this album is some of the best stuff in the genre. Quite a few absolutely fantastic songs to be found here.
Edit: screw it its a 100
Highlights: Cross to Bear, Artificial Light, Gasoline, Death
Low Points: What I'm Not, The Heart of a Graveyard
I've never been a huge fan of Project 86, so I didn't have super high expectations for this album, but I have lots of time on my hands to listen to music, so I decided to check it out. Wow. Everything here flows fantastically and hits hard. Each time I listen to this album it grows on me just a little bit, which is how all the best metal albums are. Honestly by the time the end of the year comes around, this album may be in my top 10 for the year, which would be absolutely crazy for an ... read more
This is the start of the best era of this band. This album is heavy as hell while still retaining the melodic elements of some of their early 2010 albums such as Meridional. This band has one of the coolest evolutions in the entire genre but I think this is where they truly hit their peak.
Highlights: Reaction, I. The Planet, 1,000,000 Watts
Low Points: Synthetic Sun
Definitely one of their strongest albums.
Highlights: Fire to My Soul, The Soldiers Song
Low Points: Undying, Relentless Intolerance
