I literally got so assmad at the other reviews that I logged into this godforsaken website just to give praise to this incredible album. "Not found their footing" my fucking arse
A controversial pick I know, but Lullabies to Paralyze is the best album QOTSA have ever produced. No other album they have created has had a flow so magical as this. Each track is followed by banger after banger with a eclectic mix of soft acoustic tracks and hardcore rock masterpieces. Some of the bands best tracks appear here, from the soothing This Lullaby to the absolutely "insane" (yes, pun intended) Everybody Knows That You're Insane, and the woefully underrated Skin on Skin, ... read more
Harsh, abrasive, tenacious, the pinnacle of stoner rock. Dave Grohl is the standout performer on this record and pulls off some of the most impressively casacading and speedy drumming of all time which drives the album forward at a tremendously fast pace. Having grown up listening to this album, it'll always have a place in my heart as a nostalgic throwback to car rides to go get shopping with my dad and headbanging the whole way there. Josh Homme just provides nothing but endlessly energetic ... read more
Like Clockwork is the most emotionally present album in the bands collection, ditching some of the harsh guitars and mixing for a more clean, piano driven atmospheric sound with the same old classic QOTSA sound spliced inbetween. It's certainly a refreshing take on the bands style and it think it suits them down to the ground. Having been hospitalised, bedridden for months and severly depressed before recording, Homme shows some of his best, most personal lyricism and songwriting to date, ... read more
Rated R makes me wanna take nicotine, valium, vicodin, marijuana, ecstacy and alcohol all at the same time. Qotsa's second album is the starting point from when they went from pretty great rock band to masters of stoner rock. Some of the best mixing the band has ever had and thundering riffs put this album on the map as one their greatest.
Era Vulgaris is a uniquely raw album full of harsh riffs and distortion that give it a different flavour from their other releases. It has the atmosphere equilavent to sitting by a campfire in the California desert whilst also sounding like the score to Mad Max. It does however lack in exictement midway thorugh and isn't paced fantastically well, but its still a great album nevertheless.
The debut fine starter album overall but defintely not their best album. Good riffs and driving basslines make for an interesting listen and the early signs of the greatness to come shine through on this album but its average in comparison to everything that came out after it (except Villains, Villains sucks).
Incredibly flat production and boring bloated tracks make this album feel dry and lifeless, this isn't not a worthy successor to Like Clockwork. If I was asked to describe how I feel everytime I'm forced to listen to this album in one word, It'd be "disappointment".

I wanna pet your animal
I wanna feel it on the outside
I wanna pet your animal
It's whole existence is pawed
Please let me closer to dog
Disappointed. Not as bad as The Now Now, but about as boring to listen too.
...and your wise users don't know how it feels, to be thick as a brick (and not enjoy this album)...
An eclectic mix of odd synths, minimalist sounds and underlying themes of pure joy and bliss, this album is a solid portrayal of nature, life and beauty within a 35 minute run time. Beautiful in it's own unique way...
Opening sounds like a sunset currently happening before your eyes, one of the more unique guitar tones I've ever heard. Then the WUBS kick in, and the Slowthai. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK YEAH.
