(Rating is biased because Thundercat is one of my favorite artists lol)
This album really is cool honestly, on all of Thundercats projects they're good but it just doesn't feel collected, but on this one, it seems like he's got it all. Each track filled with Thundercat's high voice, and sensational playing, the album most literally just feels like a warm hug. I've actually fallen asleep to it like 3 times now (Which is a good thing) Just a really nice album all around, almost every track is ... read more
Wow, I absolutely loved this album. This protest album, the second in its series, is filled to the brim with absolutely AMAZING percussion (IMO the best thing about this album) that will have you bouncing in your seat, tapping your feet. Alongside the percussion are the well-crafted group vocals as well as the smooth RnB tracks. Altogether just an amazing album, Rise shows how even in the darkest times we still have the ability to find joy and happiness under any circumstances, that we must ... read more
Well, one thing is apparent: the strokes are back. After a decade-long slump, the strokes we know and love are back. This 2020 must-listen is a 9 track album, with each song being filled to the brim with amazing production, great sounds, excellent playing, and of course, Julian's amazing voice is a perfect addition to both 2020, and the Strokes discography. Truly a great album not only in 2020 standards but also just in general.

So i may get eaten alive for this rating but whatever. This album made me hate myself, for no reason, like i felt like i needed a bath after listening. a few of the tracks I absolutely loved, and some I was confused at but didn’t mind, but then some i just flat out didn’t like. Some tracks made me just flat out grimace, though I do appreciate experimental i didn’t appreciate this, the constant berating abstract beats
on top of the screeching distorted vocals just didn’t ... read more
This was.... laughably bad. First off why is it that long, secondly . I cant write rn just too disappointed , what happened to ALLTY1 trippie?? Like i listened and tried , but this album really had nothing for me, maybe like 1-3 tracks tops
Wow. went into this not knowing anything, came out amazed. Production was crazy good, usually not something I’d find myself listening to but man was this good. Also, the Peggy feature was dope. Wish I found this earlier, def recommend (even though I’m late)
I really stepped out of my comfort zone for this album, this genre and style had never really been my style so I didn't quite knot what to expect, but let me just say, I'm so glad I listened. Though I considered it corny sometimes, this album is literally so much fun, just a really good upbeat funk album. Blew any expectation I had out of the water, which is crazy, because I've never liked something quite like this.
Actually an incredible album. Hearing each amazing psychedelic song and how well they all flow together, you're literally transported into another dimension. I recommend this album to literally anyone and everyone, this album is just pure musical crack. Brain goes mmmm when I listen.
When people see a 5 they think bad, but not at all, it just means its mid. My expectations were not high,so they weren't hurt when this was just plane okay. Nothing quite stood out to me, not the highlight of Future or Uzi's career, still decent though, I might keep a few songs. But for the most part just a okay project, not bad, or good, just okay. For me it started of good, first few tracks got me in, but after a while it just got boring. I don't know how to explain about it its just kinda ... read more
I really don't know how to feel, its so good, but also so bad, at the same time (not actually bad) I love it. Not my fave AnCo record, but def up there. I listened while doing work and only after 30 minutes i realized I had stopped working, and was just staring at a wall, listening to this record. How does AnCo always hypnotize me.
I really can't explain my rating without bias, just probably the album that means the most to me, the album that got me to fall in love with music in the first place. Though it does pale in comparison to all of the Beatles' other fantastic albums, I truly have this album to thank for my annoying obsession with music. When listening you truly will fall in love with every track, a must-hear in your life.
What a complete total bitchin' album, I scream Looking for Today at least once a day. Who doesn't love them some sabath. From start to finish a rockin, fun album, defiantly worth a listen.
Decent enough rap album for this year, nothing too great, but nothing too bad, just decent. Production and features help a lot. I look forward to seeing what else Baby has to make, hopefully, he can top this, though it may be good, it's def not his best (or AOTY which I've heard some saying)
Ok, so I'll put this review out before I get obliterated. I genuinely do not see the hype surrounding this album. In my opinion quite mediocre, nothing exciting stood out to me, for the most part, I only enjoyed maybe 2-4 songs max. I don't know, I understand how many may love this, but for me, the album falls flat to me, just plain mediocre.
Wow, the sheer amount of feelings and memories I have attached to this album are insane. One of the first indie albums that I heard that really stuck to me- and that I really cared about. A severely underrated, really good album, Filled with fun experimental, songs, vocals, and prediction. I really don't have a least favorite song, but without a doubt in mind, Cool is my favorite.
I used to make fun of people who cried to music, then I heard this when it dropped. I no longer make fun of those people
Hearing Denzel's amazing flow, lyrics, and voice over Kenny's well-crafted, unique beats, is perfect on the ears. Definitely one of my favorite projects from 2020 and just in general.
I truly do struggle to articulate how much I love this album, from the second it starts to the second it ends you're locked in. Beautifully produced, each track made me say "oh wow" at least twice, just a stellar album. Also, I would do everything I could to bottle the feeling you get when you listen to Purple Bottle because just - pure euphoria -
I really don't know how to feel about this album, don't get me wrong I like the majority of the tracks and think the best parts are stellar, but still, I'm not getting the hype, but it is a good album don't get me wrong. I guess more listens to the album and Fiona Apple herself are required
