Madlib at his finest. Gibbs dropped some of the toughest chill bars I’ve heard in a while, and got some amazing artists to feature. A few songs could have had a shorter run time
First half was definitely better than second. But Sade still never ceases to amaze
Starla is amazing, but Pisces overall feels kinda generic. It has its moments and is overall still a good record, but is completely overshadowed by Siamese and Mellon
Summerteeth is a bittersweet and awesome alt-folk album. Wilco is incredibly charming
Nice and groovy bossa nova record. Wave nad Look to the Sky are standout tracks
Tropeau Blue is a fantastic psychedelic funk record. Also, how do y’all not like Go Round; it’s piano perfection
Pro:Groovy and fantastic first two tracks,
Con:lackluster backside
Not to be that guy but this just doesn’t do all too much for me. I totally understand loving it though
This album was well worth the 9 year wait. Much more stylized than dummy, and it really leans into portisheads darkness. Beth gibbons voice is put on a pedestal, and truly shines.
