Holy fucking shit, I did not expect the album to be THIS good. This blows the rest of their pure drone stuff out of the water, which makes me SO excited to hear Night Coercion because it's apparently EVEN BETTER
Yeah, I have no clue why nobody talks about this project among NSB's myriad of others they put out in 2008. It's clearly a big standout, and is genuinely one of my favourites in their entire discography so far. It just has such a strong vibe to it that I can't ... read more
It's not amazing by any means, but this is definitely one of the coolest things I've heard in a while. I've always been obsessed with the arctic and its culture, and always wanted to live or at least go there. This album feels like an embodiment of Inuit culture, near the beginning being mixed with (some) modern elements to be (slightly) more accessible to present-day southerners. But still, quite a lot of the time, it is just pure growling and howling guttural acapella. I absolutely love it. ... read more
It's not quite as wintry as the Winter Ray, but it's still certainly a very cold, serene, unnerving and desolate album. I can see for sure why it's a fan favourite, and I can say it has a TON of amazing ideas thrown in the mix. From the quiet folk and uniquely intricate instrumentation of the first two discs to the pummeling tribal drums and loud hypnotic drones of the third, it's by no means one of their biggest masterpieces, but still very much worth the two and a half hours. ... read more
The only band to ever be formed in Antarctica. They were brought there as entertainment for the Rothera Research Station staff. It's kinda mid, but very respectable for performing it in the stiff, biting cold of the Antarctican peninsula.
What can be said about Pink Moon that hasn't already been said? It's a very simple, very effective masterpiece. An album I grew up with, and a calming, peaceful, dark experience from front to back. I could see it becoming a ten if I were to listen to it while looking out over the cold autumn night.
If you told me this record came out recently instead of fifty years ago, I'd have believed you. This brilliant piece of music will never grow dated.
Update: 10/10. This album is the pure embodiment ... read more
This is amazing, but not at all in the way that I'm used to. Which is so awesome
Tago Mago is an extremely original, pioneering project, packed with incredibly groovy and repetitive psychedelic krautrock. A masterpiece of its time, and one of the best albums of the 70s for sure.
Halleluhwah is also one of the funkiest things I've possibly ever heard, I can totally understand the 99 user score
Okay I'm writing this while listening to Aumgn, WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?! THIS ISN'T KRAUTROCK!?!!?!? I ... read more

Ah, the good old days...
I listened to this just out of curioisity, then my fucking browser decided to update and freeze the album cover on youtube all huge on my screen, meanwhile my mother was upstairs in the next room, and I only just managed to switch off my monitor before she came through my door. I had to act natural while she clearly knew something was wrong, with me just sitting there with my computer on and my screen off
Worst event of my life avoided

Thank you so much everyone for 500 followers!!! ❤️❤️
This will be one of three albums that I'll be reviewing for my special, which are both quite significant to me. (+ one discog dive of a significant artist)
If you already couldn't tell, this album is where I got my username!
So, Bell Witch. They are one of my favourite doom metal bands out there, who create huge, sprawling epics with tempos the pace of a boulder and temperaments more gloomy and miserable than the average Glasgow ... read more
My ears are ringing loudly, and everything I hear sounds muffled and watery
I can feel my heart beating in my chest
I feel dizzy, my sense of balance is off
My whole body still feels like powerful sound is echoing inside
The fact that just a piece of music can do all of this to me...
From the pleasant melodies of 'Peaches En Regalia' to the screeching sax and violin solos of 'The Gumbo Variations', Hot Rats is a completely unhinged jazz fusion experience; Featuring Ian Underwood, whipping it out once again! This album was very ahead of its time for 1969, and once again showcased Zappa's massive and unique talent. Masterpiece.
Favourite tracks: ★ Peaches En Regalia, Son of Mr. Green Genes, The Gumbo Variations, It Must Be a Camel
Only five leaves left... I can't do this anymore.
After having a few too many drinks, picking up a guitar at a social gathering for the first time in his life, and leaving everyone in utter shock - Nick Drake releases his debut album, and finally graces the world with his musical genius for the first time. It's a sad and beautiful folk record, from a soul born too early to be saved. Rest in peace.
Favourite tracks: ★ River Man, Day is Done, Fruit Tree
13 years after his previous project, Martin Grech delivers very solidly with his fourth LP consisting of grandiose, atmospheric, melodic, cheesy prog. It's a great album, and has some phenomenal moments on it for sure, especially in the second half where it ramps up quite a bit in quality. You can tell how obviously inspired he is by Radiohead and Jeff Buckley, but it is still certainly different enough. This album does not get nearly the amount of attention it deserves.

Guys, I've had a spiritual awakening! I'm not going to scream anymore, but instead just make the most boring latin pop music humanly possible! I'm not an industry plant guys I swear, I'm just so cool and unique! Stream my music now!
While coming very close to (sometimes even surpassing) the points of eargasm that The Glowing Man reaches, this live album fails in its flow and cohesiveness. Some songs feel quite fragmented, both within the songs and through the tracklist as a whole, making it kind of hard to rate. But that does not stop it from being an immensely mind-melting experience. As always, Swans' live jammery puts some REALLY interesting, fucking awesome spins on the already existing songs.

Gira: *alien noises*
Me: *starts ugly crying and shitting my pants*
All I can do while listening to this is imagine how insane it would have been for a Swans fan at the time, especially after 14 years of complete inactivity. It's certainly overshadowed a lot by the trilogy, but it's still a pretty damn solid LP, and has some amazing and very powerful moments on it for sure. This album is the underdog of Swans.
Favourite tracks: ★ No Words / No Thoughts, Inside Madeline, Eden Prison
Well that was.. not what I was expecting. With the way people described it, I thought this would be all tranquil and beautiful, and yes it was for the first half hour, but then it was suddenly FUCKING SCARY
It's so raw and noisy and overbearing even from the start... it sounds exactly like the state of mind in the moments before a suicide. It's relentless and brutal, definitely the most intense and violent NSB release I've heard so far. And I've seen people say it gets a lot more full-on in ... read more
