Any of my fellow Brits remember Abney & Teal? Well, this album was made by Teal's voice actress, so I was curious and checked it out. Suffice to say, her childrens' show is a lot better than her music. It's pretty hilarious hearing the innocent little girl's high pitched voice doing some vicious punk vocals, but sadly the whole thing just comes off tacky.

Great soundtrack for a great movie! The dark essence of Nick Cave is used very well here to paint a very detailed and murky post-apocalyptic picture. The composition is incredible, and the title track is one of the most bleakly beautiful scores I've heard. I love Nick Cave (shoutout to Warren Ellis too)
Favourite tracks: The Road, Memory, The Far Road, The Family, The Boy
Holy underrated, WOW. This feels like NSB at their most refined, and it's perfect for getting emotion across far better. There's eerie passages, loud crescendos, creepy folk songs, beautiful drones, and the hidden track at the end is so innocent and happy. I love what this album gets across, genuinely one of their best albums so far. God I LOVE IT
Favourite track: I DON'T KNOWWw
Dark and twisted soundscapes from dimensional voids and monoliths. It goes all the way from sinister and dreadful to tranquil and beautiful, and all the while you are continuously floating, through a deep, black nothing.
Favourite track: Alice
You may think this album is far too long, but sitting through the entire 6 and a half hours of Japanese television recordings quite well simulates the brainrot of sitting in watching the telly all day. Not to say that I'm much different lol, despite never having a TV license.
It's quite a pleasant experience, entertaining for the most part even though I don't know the majority of what they're saying, and despite its length is not really that hard to get through. That's the nature of ... read more

This album is the Agent's journey from Centauri to Earth. Through twists and turns, highs and lows, setbacks and breakthroughs, tranquility and turmoil... perilous, but well worth it in the end.
But, what happened in the end, you may ask? Well...
...that was when we came to be.
Centauri watches.
Some 'dismembered' thoughts about the album:
It's so chaotic and mathy I love it omg
These guys are from Washington DC, right? They really do sound like they're from Washington
This album feels new asf, 1999 my ass. For quite a while i actually thought it came out in 2022 😭
There are so many things you could compare this to, but it's all like, "almost, not really?" nothing is completely similar

Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Mouthful, but more consistent at the cost of being far more bland and boring. Instead of experimenting with a ton of different sounds, for better or worse, and massively standing out, it's just an average grain of wheat in the field of alt-rock and indie pop. Not to say that it's bad though, it still has some bangers.
Favourite tracks: Never Meant to Know, Cannibal, Misery Fell, ★ Fate of the Stars
Overhated asf. Yes it's very white, it's very theatercore, but that doesn't make it bad yk. Some of it slaps hard, some of it's genuinely beautiful, it's in general quite enjoyable, and I'd certainly go so far as to call it the best Joe Hawley project.
Favourite tracks: Murders, ★ Stranded Lullaby, Dream Sweet in Sea Major
It's an incredible album musically, but for me it just suffers from MAJOR pacing issues. I can't get past that, it just feels like such a mess compared to the rest of their stuff. I'll have another relisten to the reissue and see how I feel about it, but I think my rating for this version is staying the same. It's still fantastic though, especially for a "debut".

I was there, back in the day.. I was there, to witness the fall of the Shadow Kingdom. Let's see, it was... it was dark, grim, there was fire, there uh.. I was just passing by, y'know, I'd long since left my residence in such a horrid place. And the place is just a memory, long gone now... a-anyways, continuing on, there were, ah...

After only hearing Hey Ya and Ms Jackson (which were some of the greatest hip-hop songs I had ever heard), I was hooked and obsessed on OutKast already; so, I probably had my expectations a little too high... 😅
But this album still delivered pretty well. There are some insane bangers here, especially BOB, and certainly some lower points too, but it all comes together to make a fantastically flowing hip-hop experience overall, with a myriad of great skits and interludes laced in between. ... read more
This album portrays well the true essence of Zappa. Great instrumentation that gets me jammin out hard, and it's also filled to the brim with the most random hilarious running jokes, commentaries, Mark and Howie even get a little fruity...

Just some extras from Wakin on a Pretty Daze, but of course since that album is a masterpiece, this is awesome too. Most of the versions of WOAPD songs that are on here I actually prefer to their original versions, apart from Wedding Budz since it's kind of just a more stripped-back demo version of Air Bud. But otherwise this is some great stuff, and does not warrant its lower score at all.

This is a weird one... it's incomplete all right. It's good, but doesn't reach anywhere close to the heights of Pet Sounds. It's proggier, more experimental, but I don't know.. something just feels off. Good Vibrations is really great though. Still quite a solid album in general, but very incohesive.
I feel bad for Brian Wilson making this.
