Ok, this one caught me off guard. As I’m familiar with on how critically acclaimed JPEGMAFIA & Danny Brown are, especially with their output from the 2010’s. So, what happens when two of them team up for an album? It could result into delivering a really great, hard hitting album, and fortunately, this is the case. Although despite a couple of songs here that I felt they didn’t fully hit with me, but the rest of this is just consistently great. The flows from both artists ... read more
5 years after they released the massively underwhelming album M A N I A, Fall Out Boy makes their return with their eighth studio album, being this, and I think it’s a big return to form for the band. Yes, they’re rehashing their sound from their peak, but it’s nice to see them go back to a more guitar-driven sound that I liked from the band, but there’s still flaws on the album, such as production on some songs being all over the place and the millennial whoops are ... read more
I think people here are underestimating Luke Combs. He’s one of the country artists that has streaming traction, and look, just because it’s a country album, doesn’t mean it’s bad, and as for me, this album is a terrific listen. The rich neo-traditional production, as well as the improved vocal mixing, and Combs really delivers on here, especially with the highlights, even the Fast Car cover. It’s a good album, please try to be more open to the genre and give this ... read more
Kaskade & deadmau5, two producers in EDM teaming up for a joint album? Yes it is, and it’s a really good one. I feel like the duo made some nice production throughout the album, and it’s filled with good to great bangers, although with a couple of road bumps. Incredibly fun collab record, I recommend this
This took me a while to get to this album, I should’ve done this weeks ago, but now here I am, as I listened to Kali Uchis’ third LP, being this, and while I get the concept as a form of romantic paradise, but at the same time, this album is very underweight at that. There’s are some highlights, but the album suffers the overall mix at times drowned in reverb and doesn’t make it stick for me. It’s a decent album, but I don’t think I’ll come back to this ... read more
Ok, this is the worst album I’ve heard in 2023 so far.
Insufferable, corporate and extremely compressed garbage, avoid at all costs
I’ve never got to listen to a TWICE project before, and now I made the time, and I’m so glad that I got to hear an incredibly fun mini-album like this one. Sure, it’s not TWICE at their best, but I love how they put the music together here, it reminds me of the best of early 2010’s pop, which is a positive. So yeah, I had a lot of fun with this, and I’m now looking forward on where they go next. Good mini-album, I recommend it
I get why people call this a great album, given slowthai’s praise, especially with 2021’s Tyron. But this is his third LP, and while I still liked it, I feel like it was inconsistent after the first two songs, and while I appreciate slowthai going for a more post-punk direction, it doesn’t always stick the landing in terms of execution. It’s a solid to good album, but I wanted more
Worst album of the year so far to me. I’ve stopped caring about artists like Lil Pump here a long time ago, and this album is pretty much why, it’s really bad and gimmicky
This is an album that I shouldn’t really like given what I heard from 100 gecs for years, especially their brand of Hyperpop, but this is their new album, I listened to it, and I think this is an improvement from their last effort. As this goes into a bit of a more rock sound, combining that this is just simply “stupid and fun” I do think it works here. It’s a good album
36 songs. 2 hours of Morgan Wallen. And if we didn’t think he’d be pulling a Dangerous Double Album card twice, this would be that. It’s obviously trying to get more streams than going with the music itself, as Morgan comes off here as more of a country Drake, being more uninteresting than before, making music that’s mediocre as hell. At least Dangerous showed any potential Morgan could’ve gone with, this album squanders it. It’s not the worst album ... read more
Ok, Miley Cyrus managed to win me over with Plastic Hearts, I thought it was her best album to date and deserved better in terms of mainstream success, and now in 2023, she had moved to Columbia, she got a new album with tons of promotion, and this might be her most disappointing project she ever made. Miley sounded bored in the majority of the album, the production is underwhelming throughout, and the features outside of Brandi Carlile, were just there. It’s certainly not her worst ... read more
Although still a decent album, but for a very established band like Gorillaz, who has been in the music scene for over 20 years, this was so underwhelming. Most of the highlights were on the first half but it just trails off from there. It also just feels more like an album filled with leftovers. Look, I like Gorillaz, but they are capable of doing better than this
I’m not that much of a Latin guy, I’m an Aussie, but I have heard of reggaeton starting to be a prominent thing in America since I started following the Hot 100 in 2018, Karol G happens to be one of the big names of the sub-genre, and this is the first time I get to listen to a full album from her, and it’s a decent listen. At best, it’s really good and at times, special in its own right. At worst, it’s generic and in one case, really messy. Still, I don’t ... read more
Kelsea Ballerini is a name that I was familiar with Pop Country for years, and while I didn’t know much about her high-profile divorce last year, she now decides to speak about it in this surprise EP, and this is the best thing I’ve heard from Kelsea in her career. Her honest Taylor Swift inspired delivery, as well as the production works with the angst of heartbreak she went through, based on her time on the marriage and the eventful divorce before accepting that it’s over ... read more
Caroline Polachek is an artist who I’ve been hearing about for recent years due to critical acclaim, but I have heard a couple of songs from her prior to this, and I thought both of those songs were great, so I wanted to hear this album out of curiosity, and yeah, this is the first great album I’ve heard in 2023. Production is almost immaculate the whole way through and Polachek sounds great here, especially on the biggest highlights, but at the same time, it kinda feels a bit safer ... read more
I was curious about how this album would go for P!nk, even on her ninth LP, which is this, I had hopes since “Irrelevant” came out and that song really deserved better (it’s not even on the final cut), and this might be the biggest disappointment I’ve heard in 2023 so far. The album barely delivers anything outside a few tracks and it just hurts me. There’s even one track with a recycled title from her earlier music, and this album is a drag to listen to. ... read more
And now, here’s the second Skrillex album he dropped alongside Quest For Fire a day apart. And paradoxically, while I did say Quest For Fire is his best effort, Don’t Get Too Close is by far his worst effort. Outside a couple highlights, there’s nothing much to talk about other than that this album is so underweight, especially the second half, and this album was somehow suppose to be more commercial, but it results in the quality barely being there, plus with a couple ... read more
Nine years after releasing his debut LP Recess, Skrillex makes his return with not just one… but two new albums. This being Quest For Fire, which is the first of the two LPs, and everyone seems to favor this album more, so I got to listen to both albums, I’m starting with this one, and this is the best thing Skrillex has dropped. His production styles, as well as the mixing have improved since the last album, and there’s some highlights, I get why this is received positively, ... read more
I remember when “Friday” went viral in 2011, but I didn’t really know the Internet back then, I was a kid at the time, and now, Rebecca Black is now making a proper LP, and especially after the hate she got from that one viral song, which she didn’t even wrote, I felt bad for her, I wanted to root for her, especially after I was exposed to some of her music last year, and it really shows what she’s really capable of an artist as she had so much improvement within ... read more
