Terrifyingly real.
GOLLIWOG has been one of my most anticipated albums for 2025. Anytime billy woods drops an album, I have to prepare. I thought I knew what this album was gonna be like, but this is way more different than I thought. Abstract beats and lyricism, were two things that I definitely expected but abstraction is a world that you can explore through. This album takes steps into the world and runs straight into the woods. The biggest aspect of this album is definitely horror. ... read more

So helplessly in love that you can’t bear the fact that they are gone. A sad concept that some may live through, and one that is beautifully laid out through this album. This ... read more
What the fuck is this?
There’s something uncanny about this album and I’m not saying that because of the cover. Every choice they make on this album is an odd one. Nothing sounds like it was intended but there feels like there was a vision behind it all. And for some reason, I’m really enjoying it.
Deerhoof has always been a weird band. They will always stand out in the indie genre as something that can’t be replicated by no other. But this album takes anything weird ... read more
Dipping my toes into the Pop Punk genre lead me to PUP, and it was quite a neat surprise. I heard they had a new album on the way so I decided to lend an ear and goddamn, I’m so glad I made that decision.
This is messy, ecstatic and abrasive in the best ways possible. Just from the vocals alone, you can hear a strong passion behind it, almost like screaming into the sky, it almost makes you want to break free and fly out beyond. The instrumentation is fantastic. A perfect backing track ... read more
Super clean production by Flume tapped with the witty lyricism and flows of JPEGMAFIA both fuse together to create this off-the-wall weird but melodic EP and honestly I’m a bit disappointed. There are some great moments on this EP like the last half of the first song and the drop of AI Girlfriend but nonetheless, the four songs given here are pretty forgettable. The sound design, the rhythms and the production as a whole is well… very impressive but it isn’t great enough to ... read more
Devastatingly beautiful.
“Only Dust Remains” is a personal, dark, and raw album. Everything presented on this sounds powerful like there’s this strong anger and passion behind it. Ashanti’s vocals are fantastic on this. She sounds so sick of it and rightfully so. Reflecting on her past and struggles in this beautiful presentation. Social issues, religion, spirituality and many more aspects of her life are dealt with this insane sound collage that sounds like being ... read more
This album is seriously fun.
The Viagra Boys comes out guns-blazing with their album “Cave World”. Every song on this album is a groovy as shit. It’s silly, obnoxious and goofy even but it does all of these aspects so well that it’s hard to not dance and go ape shit.
The instrumentation is crazy. A funky ass guitar, these bassy drums, a supper groovy bass over it all, and weird synths + noises that all works together like an avant-garde painting. Some horns here and ... read more
WORK WORK WORK WORK WORK
JID is back with a banger which hopefully is leading up to an album. The energy is great, JID sounds fire as always, the whole track is just fun. It’s overall just a good rap song, it’s not anything mind-blowing, it does what it does and ends before it gets too repetitive. Great!
The internet makes beautiful things and this is proof of that. Every kid born on the internet will love this, every song is a banger. From fun feel-good samples to hard ass crazy samples, this album manages to serve exactly what it wants from top to bottom. If any thing I described to you has interested you in any way, please give this a listen, you will not forget it.
It’s clear that BCNR is not the same BCNR that made their first two projects but that’s not an issue at all. This new art-rock/chamber-pop era is much appreciated. This feels like the opening of a new door into a new fantasy, almost like a breath of fresh air.
The vocals on this album are gorgeous, one of my standouts being their single, “For the Cold Country” This song is fantastic. The first half of this track sounds almost like a vocal demo with slight ... read more
Holy FUCK!!!!
I haven’t really listened to any Jane Remover but I did hear some songs of her 2021 album “Frailty” where at the time, it was released under the name “dltzk”. The only reason this caught my attention was because of the singles she released this year. I was first brought back to her music because of the song “JRJRJR” and I thought it was fantastic. And then the single “dancing with your eyes closed” released, and I was in awe ... read more
I wish LUCKI made another project like this. The sound of this album is so different to anything he’s ever done. The lyricism is still deep and thought out like all of his other projects. But just the overall vibe of this album carries it for me.
Skrillex’s new surprise album is a unique listen to put it simply.
The way this album is sequenced is strange. All of the songs are really short but seamlessly transition into the next song, this almost makes this whole album sound like a full 45 minute song with about 40 different beat drops and build-ups.
Songs go from DnB to Dubstep to Techno to Trap to Brostep to Riddim, this whole album is an journey through every EDM genre. And even with that, this album manages to feature plenty ... read more
Something about this album doesn’t sit right with me. Although there are some great songs like Lotus Flower, Codex, and Separator, there are moments in this album where I felt they didn’t go “all in”, like they were just scratching the iceberg of what could’ve been. The first half of this album is very underwhelming in my opinion. They try to make it sound so unique and different by experimenting with unconventional rhythms and sounds but it comes of more unusual ... read more
To put it simply, everything about this sounds outdated. Nothing about this album would’ve made me expect that these are the same people who made fantastic albums like OK Computer, In Rainbows and Kid A. This is a pretty basic alt rock album, and that’s all it is. It’s not horrible but it isn’t fantastic either when compared to Radiohead’s albums after this project. There are some riffs and ideas that had some much potential and was only drawn back due to basic ... read more
