One of Vince Staples' shorter albums, "FM!" is a lot more straightforward than its predecessor "Big Fish Theory," but it's still a fun listen with a bunch of bangers and not much in terms of filler. Kenny Beats handles production well, delivering a set of punchy, stripped down beats that bring an off kilter energy to the album. Meanwhile, Vince is able to flow over these beats effortlessly.

One of the big problems with a lot of the "underground" rap is that a lot of the artists try to imitate a trendy sound/style, and the result is a lot of the music sounds the same, and not many artists really stand out. Thankfully, NIKOWOODYEAR's "PROJECT NEON*" avoids most of these problems and shows a lot of potential.

Jpegmafia's production starts off like "what the fuck am I listening too" and about a minute in it turns into "holy shit this slaps." He throws together all of these absurd samples that have no business working, but they do, and the result is some of the most insane rap beats ever.
