Logic is so good man. Apparently at some point in his career became bad and cringe, but right now I've listened to Ultra 85 and now Under Pressure and they're both amazing. It's hard to deny Logic is a very talented and skilled rapper and even on his first album it's evident how good he is as an artist. The production by 6ix is seriously good too, shoutout Gang Related and the sampling on the Under Pressure track, fucking love some of these beats and it really helps that ... read more
In the context of an 8 year wait for Don't Be Dumb it's a little disappointing, but taking the album as it is it's pretty good. Most of these songs have great production and good Rocky performances, enough to warrant them on my playlist, but again it's kinda underwhelming. I was expecting tons of experimentation as his interviews suggested, but the most out there thing on the whole project is having a Brent Faiyaz feature. Okay that's mean there are a couple genre ... read more
This is the first time I review an album track by track but considering how short the length it I thought it would make sense. Daytona is decent, but it starts with a real stinker in If You Know You Know, shitty beat, awful hook and a lame music video to boot, straight ass. Thankfully the rest of the album picks up as The Games We Play is pretty good, I like the stripped back beat and Pusha is good on here, although the song never really goes anywhere, which is a critique I have with pretty ... read more
Yeah this is pretty cool. While Childish Gambino's lyrics aren't amazing, I think the production stands out so much it's more than enough to make this a good listen, I mean there's some truly awesome stuff going on here. The structure is also a lotta fun and something you don't see often. I understand if you don't like Because The Internet but I'd say this worked for me for sure.
The absolute highlight for me on The Sun's Tirade is the production, it's very lovely and smooth and I love the different kinds of instruments and noises he adds on to these beats to make them super interesting to listen to. On the other hand I don't think I'm a big fan of Isaiah Rashad as an artist, I don't know on my first few listens I didn't enjoy his voice or lyrics or delivery, it's a little odd and hard to get used to. With this juxtaposition in the ... read more
The best, most iconic and most underrated Kanye songs all in one grand, orchestral, fun as hell package. College Trilogy how I love you.
Might Delete Later definently grew on me. It was very underwhelming at first, and while it's still not super great I find myself coming back to quite a lot of these Cole songs so it isn't terrible.
Genuinely one of the most fun albums you'll ever listen to. Filled with intriguing and addicting production with some of the greatest sampling ever, and the chemistry between Peggy and Danny Brown is unmatched. What an album.
I think the reason Birds is glossed over is because even I can admit the rest of Travis' discography is up to a higher standard, but that doesn't mean that this album is a miss by an means. Some of my favourite songs from him are on here, and I really like a lot of the production overall.
This was my first introduction to Boldy James as an artist, and while I've grown to really enjoy his music this album remains okay.
Probably my favourite album from 2024, Metro and Future are a duo that was just meant to work. The production is truly great, from hard ass beats to more melancholic moments, while Future flows on everything handed to him like he was born to do it. Every feature is great too.
Ehhh I don't know, as a big Kanye fan this album never really stuck with me. There's some diamonds in the rough, but Donda is super bloated and a lot of it isn't worth revising.
I should relisten to Blue Lips for sure because I don't remember much but I do remember liking the experimentation and production, it was one of my favourite projects from 2024.
