Nujabes - Modal Soul
90

This album is real beauty. Nujabes has quickly risen to my top 5 producers of all time in such a short amount of time. He pushed the boundaries of hip hop, and blended the genre with intricate and euphoric beats of all kinds. There isn't a single song here that you won't enjoy, even the tracks that are just instrumentals are some of the best just because of how incredible the production is. It's funky, tropical, smooth, plus it makes for really good study music. Safe to say ... read more

Rome Streetz - KISS THE RING
85

How does this sound so good?? A relatively unknown member of Griselda in my eyes has an album this fantastic chilling in his discography?? Every beat is so grimy and hard, Conductor Williams is one hell of a producer. And my eyes have been opened to how good Rome Streetz is as an artist, 17 tracks of pure bars.

Joey Bada$$ - 1999
95

1999 is an album that showcases hip hop in it's most raw form, just some beats being rapped on by a teenager and his friends. And it somehow sounds better than 99% of rap music in general, incredible work.

Yeat - 2093
90

Seeing one of my favourite artists, who is known for making pretty similar music in his own niche, make an album this experimental and wild is beautiful to see. 2093 genuinely transports me into a cyberpunk world with it's crazy production and vocals, it's such high quality it's nuts. Yeat making a concept album was always going to be incredible.

Kanye West - Yeezus
82

Only Kanye could make an album this bold and experimental and still make it sound excellent. Once Yeezus clicks, it CLICKS.

Nas - King's Disease III
78

Nas has been in the game for decades and he's still making music like this. It's nothing super special but the beats are really solid, and Nas is spitting way better than he should be for someone who's been releasing music for over 20 years.

Silk Sonic - An Evening With Silk Sonic
100

Bruno Mars' magnus opus fight me. There has never been a better duo than him and Anderson.Paak, every single song is a masterclass in how to make good music. I get an eargasm every time I play Silk Sonic, and the vynil makes it even better.

The Weeknd - Starboy
89

Starboy is The Weeknd at his most fun, most iconic, and most funky. Everything here hitsss man how can you not enjoy this album.

21 Savage - american dream
83

My favourite 21 Savage album by FAR. All the hooks and beats on american dream are amazing, the production is at his most interesting and 21 Savage is doing what he does best. Every. Feature. Hits.

JID - DiCaprio 2
84

DiCaprio 2 is a funny album in JID's discography. It's very messy and kinda all over the place, but when you dig deeper you'll find flows, bars and beat switches that you won't find anyone else. So much fire in one tracklist, I think it's sporadic nature adds to JID'S nature, this shit is fire.

21 Savage - i am > i was
72

For a 21 Savage album this is pretty good. I love a lot of his songs but as an artist he can't usually grasp my attention for an entire project. i am > i was has the usual hard hitting 21 flows, some songs that don't hit at all, and some decent attempts at more vulnerable tracks. a lot is a legendary song.

Tyler, The Creator - IGOR
80

I can't seem to get behind IGOR as much as everyone else can, although I can appreciate how great the production and themes are, just like every Tyler album.

Lauryn Hill - The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill
96

A classic in every sense of the word. Lauryn Hill can rap, sing, perform, and produce better than anyone's favourite rapper. She really made one masterpiece and then dipped, truly an icon.

Kanye West - The College Dropout
99

I have nothing to say except that College Dropout is peak music.

Playboi Carti - Whole Lotta Red
22

I don't know man this has never clicked with me. I'm not a Carti hater, he was in my top 5 artists last year and I love Die Lit and self titled, but for some reason I cant seem to not hate Whole Lotta Red. Maybe I'll come round to it one day.

Travis Scott - Rodeo
86

Yeah this is widely considered the best Travis album for a reason. Not my favourite in his discography, but it has to be up there with how legendary Rodeo's listening experience and impact are.

Drake - Views
89

Looking at this album objectively, the tracklist is STACKED. Views somehow manages to contain Drake's most mainstream and popular songs while also being interesting in its style changes in each song. Just consistently great.

J. Cole - The Off-Season
76

Maybe the most mainstream J. Cole album, but I can see why. Strong writing, great flows, and some hard hitting beats, everything you expect from a J. Cole album. let go my hand gets me emotional every time.

Kendrick Lamar - Section.80
75

For someone so early in their career to make an album this good already is insane.

Drake - For All The Dogs
78

For All The Dogs has REALLY grown on me over the years. Revisiting it over and over has given me a deeper appreciation for songs I considered mid at first, and by the end of it I think it's a really solid Drake project. Especially in an era where Drake wasn't doing his best, he's a project with darker production while still having it's fun moments, great writing and some outstanding and infamous features. I urge all of yall to give this another chance.
