Fantastic song off the Flowerboy album, while I'm not neccessarily a fan of how he specifically controls his pace, by starting and stopping in this song, I love everything else. I especially love how it starts off with that little voice monologue.
Not the biggest fan of the rapping part. Fantastic in every other regard though.
Very personal and hard hitting single that ended up creating a five minute mini journey as you listen to it, really tying the entire album together for me.
Very wordy at times, not exactly his most hard hitting song in terms of a theme(although it does feel very personal and relate able to a certain degree), and it doesn't have the most redefining instrumentals out there, but overall it sounds great and does strike a chord with me so I could care less.
Maybe it's the fact that my brother kept spamming it, but it's probably cause this song just sounds awful to me. It drags on for sooooo long, the vocals are fine whenever there isn't any annoying stuttering to the pace, reverb or any of that shit, the instrumentals mesh together to make just a droning.... sound? The piano at the start is nice and there are some interesting guitar riffs, but overall the instrumentals sound monotonous and make my head hurt. Add on the fact that the non existent ... read more
While a close contender for the best song in the album of currents, not perfect. The 7 minute version definitely drags on for much longer than it needs to and it doesn't have my favorite vocals in the album(that would go to Brand New Person), but other than that it is a fantastic song and a knockout in every other regard. Currents generally has great lyrics that go with the mood of the instrumentals and this song is not only not an exception, but in my opinion mixes it pretty god damn close to ... read more
My favorite song of all time.. what could be said accept i love the shit out of this song? It sounds like the closest thing to perfection in my opinion and even though I don't listen to it all the time it's still something that just pops in my mind whenever and wherever. If you haven't listened to it, do yourself a favor and give it a listen. You might end up listening to it over and over again in the same sitting.
Great song. I came expecting it to be some kind of apologetic, incel bull shit from the lyrics and bad vocals to compliment and came out a little up lifted because while it is still sort of a mopey song, it doesn't try to use the song to talk about relationship issues that soley rest out of his lack of conventional attractiveness, but just got song that acknowledged and made fun of it with the contrast of the "pretty girl". As for the song, the instrumentals add to the mood very well ... read more
After I posted my review of this album, I went to listen to this song in particular again and like damn. Wow. This is kind of a banger. And I will glad fully stand behind my statement and for the album as a whole.
No, I really think that this album is truly kinda great. And to me, is what SB2H should've been in terms of how the rock and rap combination. This record to me is criminally underated, and I completely understand why, the off rythem rapping, the lyrics might not stick with some people necessarily and the more experimental aspects, some including the beats used can be completely understandably be argued to sound awful in practice. But this record much like SB2H speaks to me, not neccessarily on ... read more
Welcome to mumble rap's anti Christ. One of not only worst rap albums of all time, but THE worst album of all time.
Nope, it's an awful country rap mix and it fucking sucks. WHO WOULD'VE GUESSED! Vocals suck from everybody involved, instrumentals are tolerable but aren't special in the slightest, lyrics suck dick this is just a soulless product from a cynical "artist" that pries on the mainstream to get money and it fuckin works. Fuck this song and fuck lil Nas.
What a fall from grace, what an absolute failure of a revival from one of the most beloved rappers of all time. I don't even think it's worth talking about what the album does wrong cause you'd have to get an entire notebook to go write down. I'm exaggerating, but seriously what the fuck Marshal? Your getting mad for no reason at the fact that your music sucks in this album, the beats suck and there's nothing special in this album that's even something above mediocre. Easily one of the most ... read more
It's a lot like Cee- Lo Green's FUCK YOU!, in the sense that is extremely catchy and fun to listen to, but the difference here is that it actually has something to say about relationships and about staying together with somebody you don't even love due to the fear of dying alone, all really deep shit. This combined with how Andre "Ice Cold" proved his own point with it making it on the top 100 billboard and nobody really at the time talking about it's message makes it an easy 95.
Honestly, if you don't like this song read the title back to yourself. It's fun, easy to listen to, was catchy enough for me to remember the entire song a month after listening to it once, and overall sounds great.
Yep, I don't even get myself. Technically, this song was made for me(slow paced, atmosphere that makes me feel like I'm floating on a cloud and good singing) but I find this song not only very shallow and annoying too because of how overplayed it is. The lyrics don't mean anything to me, the slow pace doesn't have a real purpose besides adding to this god forsaken mix of Tame Impala and Ed Sheeran(to me) which I just fucking hate. I just really can't stand this song, because I heard it so many ... read more
