Bro really said, "New year, new me" and made one of a bravest u-turns in sound I've ever seen. What an experience, from the genius first half that gets better every re-listen to the breathtaking instrumental bliss of the second half. This album is an easy ten out of ten.
A bloody brilliant album, no filler despite some tracks feeling slightly bloated, the fact that David Bowie barely remembers this at all is extremely concerning. This is when I think his cocaine use was starting to get less fun, this album was amazing back to front, not perfect though.
Both tracks beginning with the letter "F" were the best on here, the rest were great too, a very great album, really enjoyed the plastic soul.
P.S.
If anybody was looking for some coke, then all they would have to do would be to get in touch with Mr. Bowie.
An absolute masterpiece, how the fuck did I rate this a sixty-six at first? I'm an idiot, this thing is practically flawless, "Rebel Rebel" is the obvious standout but "Sweet Thing" as an entire three part song is incredible too. This album might've even been better if he'd got permission to adapt the book "1984" into this, but alas.
An amazing three album run, this album while not being perfect, it's close. This is just about the best follow up to the previous album I could've asked for and the title track is my personal favourite song on the album, good shit.
Brilliant album, what really pisses me off is that I wanted this to be higher, it has amazing peaks, just a couple underwhelming tracks, "Kooks" is just fun, nothing much and "Fill Your Heart" has annoying vocals. Besides those two, this album is perfect, nothing wrong.
He just keeps making better and better albums, it's only a matter of time until a perfect one, this album was brilliant, "The Width Of A Circle" and the title track are particular standouts for me, I really enjoyed this.
A complete mess but such a massive step up from the first album. This album's first two tracks, "Space Oddity" and "Unwashed And Somewhat Slightly Dazed" are so brilliant. The only song below a seven out of ten is "An Occasional Dream", this is a great album.
Bad. The second half is where it gets pretty annoying, "Rubber Band" and "Please Mr. Gravedigger" were okay but the rest I can forget about mainly. But hey, it's his first album, he's still figuring things out. I also feel like I'm five years old listening to this, in a way I'm not too fond of.
The definition of "The Perfect King Crimson Album", for King Crimson as a whole I don't think it gets any better than this masterpiece. It honestly just has everything I love about King Crimson, cryptid lyrics, amazing instrumentals, beautiful melodies, a feeling of impending doom, everything, I absolutely loved this.
A solid ass album, the first half really helps this thing. I loved the first half, the second half was great too, I enjoyed this a lot.
That's the band I know and love. This album was brilliant besides destroying me ears at the end of "The Talking Drum", but that's my own fault for setting headphones to max. Parts one and two of the title track are both perfect and they don't leave much room to be bored in between either with tracks like "Exiles" and "Easy Money", a bloody brilliant album.
Pretty decent, upped to good because of "Islands" being a very nice closer, I'm glad they've stepped up from their last album and are back on track.
Not a good album, very poor effort. This album has good ideas but feels very rushed and not properly executed. The first song is mid followed by two poor tracks, then a nice relaxing one and finally one of the most boring songs I've heard, very tedious and just not a fun listen.
"In The Court Of The Crimson King Part II", Bloody hell, this album went by well quick! Honestly I really liked this one, I think the only thing holding it back is the fact it's less groundbreaking and a bit of a copy. I loved this though and "The Devils Triangle" was the most interesting song on the album, reminding me a lot of "Interstellar Overdrive" by Pink Floyd, excellent work fellas.
I nice relaxing way to end the band, this album, despite only having lyrics on the last track, I overall enjoyed. I felt like a lot of the songs didn't really get properly finished but hey, it's just a tribute album and mainly for ambience. I did enjoy it, but this will be the Pink Floyd album I'll return to the least overall.
A decent but very flawed album, the first half is amazing with songs like "Cluster One" and "What Do You Want From Me". But on the second half we have a really rough, frustrating three track run with "Coming Back To Life", "Keep Talking" and "Lost For Words", which in my opinion are fucking bullshit upbeat primary school Christian Rock-like songs that don't have the writing to stick the landing, other than that, the album doesn't ... read more
Not bad by any means, I liked it overall, it just doesn't have as much depth without Roger, the mix isn't as good, the instrumentals are still brilliant, it just seems to be lacking the creativity of the rest without a full lineup.
This album is brilliant, I came in here expecting something mid, but I was pleasantly surprised by this. I'm shocked this album has such mixed reviews, I loved this, I may not return to it as much since it's mainly just Roger Waters because of less collaboration, but I enjoyed this a lot.
