This album is mostly disappointing. Just very generic pop songs that sometimes even have terrible lyrics. There are a couple that do stand out to me, but it's just a handful. Starting with the opening track `Don´t Understand ́. It's a heartfelt song that sounds genuine and true. Which most of the rest of the album is lacking because of the overproduction and too modified vocals. 'Chemicals' has slowly grown on me being quite a summer bop. The other 2 singles 'Mourning' and 'Overdrive' ... read more
This is.. alright. They’re some fun pop songs, but lack authenticity. It could’ve been anyone on these tracks and they could’ve delivered a similar vocal performance as Addison gives us now. ‘Obsessed’ is 2 years later still very unlikeable and very uninteresting vocally. ‘it could’ve been u’ has a nice groove to it, and some danceability.

It's not interesting enough to be a pop hit, but also too poppy to be sad songs. On some songs the vocals are just too modified. Also the distorted bass on 'STUD' is just annoying. The highlight on this album for me is probably the 52 seconds interlude. The highlights for me are probably the 52 second interlude/short song. Which is kinda sad tbh. 10/10 is okay, not special or anything. The last 2 songs are pretty decent too. Although it is a little bit of a weird vibe, I like it.
I love how everyone hates this record, but the title 'Slut Pop' delivers. It is pure horny slut pop. It is catchy. Of course, I won't be listening to this record over and over again. But listening to this record puts a smile on my face. For what it is, it does its job very well.

Dave is nice, Central Cee is okay, overall an okaay EP.

EDIT (61 -> 73): I think I partially still agree with my first review but the initial rating was way too harsh. I just wanted to absolutely love this and sadly I didn't and still don't. It's a decent record but I'm not blown away by it. Sometimes I think the songs are just too long without bringing anything new to the table. But it's not like a song on here is subpar.

As a major Lana fan I had to check this out. Usually I'm not the biggest fan of just instrumental songs, vocals make a song for me, but I can certainly appreciate the art. I did enjoy listening to it as a whole, so that is why it gets the rating 3.5/5. I do think the top half is more emotional and atmospheric. Therefore it is also more enjoyable to me. Lana's vocals on the 2 songs, 'Lost At Sea' and 'Hollywood Bowl' are pretty solid, it's not gonna be the best songs ever, but also feels like ... read more
This record is a mix for me. MIKA sounds very cartoonish on this record, what the title of it also implies, but it's kinda hit or miss for me. The opening track ´Grace Kelly´ is amazing. The chorus is SO catchy and the lyrics are actually meaningful, talking about he's just being himself and not letting record labels force him to be a copy of an already successful artist.
´Lollipop´ feels really like a children's song, but the lyrics are so suggestive... ´Sucking ... read more
EDIT (59 -> 45): I'm revisiting most of these Skrillex records and I'm gonna say this one definitely gives me a headache. I'm not sure what I used to swe in this, but most of it isn't that good to me 2 years later. It mostly feels dated and some of these tracks are just to repetitive to get the track length they received.
It is fun to realize that IShowSpeed sampled 'Take Ü There' for one of his songs. I can happily say this one is better. The tracks I ... read more
The debut album of a poet and that is how it sounds. The instrumentation in many songs is so far back and stripped. With songs of 5+ minutes it is just getting boring during the song. Examples are 'no fun/no party', 'free' and 'curtains'. 'free' is kinda cool for the last 2 minutes creating this huge ambiance, but after 5 minutes of quite boring stuff it is too little, too late. The lyrics on all these songs are very good, but it is not carrying it for me as a song, I would rather have it as ... read more
EDIT (57 -> 62)
The first music we got from an amazing dreamy band. The first song on this EP is 'Nothing's Gonna Hurt You Baby', which starts off quite weak for me. Although I like the instrumental and vocals as I do with most CAS songs, these lyrics kinda creep me out. It feels like the lover is almost holding the loved one with them against their will. I understand it is supposed to be desperation, but it comes across wrong to me. Also 'Dreaming Of You' is pretty ... read more
Somewhat sadly this record does sound very similar to everything they made before as well. It is a great sound, but it is also good to switch it up, maybe try collabing with other artists, or get some new creative minds in the studio. The fact it all sounds similar again doesn't mean it doesn't deliver good songs. Does songs are: 'Heavenly', 'Cry' and 'Falling In Love'
The rest is just there, you could surely give it a listen, they're just more bland to me.'Hentai' is just bad though, it makes ... read more
A cool EP about a failed/bad relationship. The first two songs just trashing her ex with a punk influenced instrumental, the first one going harder than the 2nd. Which are both pretty cool tunes. Then you have 'Shapes', the best song on this EP, she talks about how she is manipulated to become someone else, "change shape". I think with a rock vibe this is a very strong song and message to share. The last one 'Stagger' is way more calm, almost 'boring' for Poppy standards. Therefore my ... read more
I think this album is somewhat fun and very experimental, but none of these remakes/remixes are better than the original songs to me, apart from 'You First (ft. Remi Wolf)'. I think this remake is actually a massive improvement on the first track. And the final demo is a good strong song as well, that might as well have been on the original album.
Personally I wouldn't see myself coming back to this album often as I enjoy the original better, but it isn't a bad album. Sometimes it is fun to ... read more
This album starts off very fun with some dreamy dance tracks. With 'the aisle' being my favorite of that bunch. It's followed by a couple songs with a trap vibe that doesn't really work for me. I don't think it really suits her voice as much as the dance stuff. In between is 'Ophelia' which is an interesting track for sure!
She also ends strong with 2 earlier released singles. That is fun and more fitting to her voice.
The only feature that is really featuring is Ice Spice. All the others ... read more
Doja switched it up on this one, after showing us how she feels about her previous record calling them ´cash grabs´, she chose violence on this record. Showing the world she doesn't care about how people see her, and honestly I kinda respect it. Although there are still some love songs on this record as well.
There's a couple tracks on this album I really like: For instance 'Paint The Town Red' has just such a catchy hook, 'Demons' is really edgy and ... read more
As someone who probably only knows 2 Outkasts songs and only the very basics of who André 3000 is. It meant that I had no real expectations, but was just interested in what a ‘flute’ album would sound like.
And honestly it is quite pretty, usually I do like vocal takes in music, that’s what makes it even more interesting for me (There are very little vocals in the 6th song).
Some parts of this album are really calming and peaceful. Other parts are a little ... read more
Edit (63 -> 67): In retrospect I was too harsh on this record I think. Yes I didn't enjoy it all the way through, but some of the tracks on here are in my favorites of all time. I think the rockier vibes on 'Kiwi' and 'Only Angel' are fun too, nothing ground-breaking, but it works. So there's a slight change in my rating.

Back when The Kid LAROI was practically only the friend of Juice WRLD. Before his real mainstream breakthrough with 'WITHOUT YOU' or even 'STAY' later.
I have to say, the reason I got into LAROI's music is because I loved his voice so much. It is on the verge of singing and rapping most of the time, with a very awesome rasp. Which makes him very recognizable. But are the lyrics corny? Yes. Are the songs ground-breaking? No. But I do vibe with it. It is like a guilty pleasure for me listening ... read more
EDIT (61 -> 53 -> 45): With Tate's new record I realized this record really should be dropped further. Some instrumental choices are just so boring on this record or the ballad is just sooo bland. Ye this isn't a great record.
Old review: I was excited for this new Tate record after 2 solid pop releases: ‘greedy’ and ‘exes’. But sadly nothing piqued my interest the same as ‘greedy’ did. There are a couple more cool pop records on here ... read more
