Okaay as someone who hasn't been a massive hater of Lil Dicky.... this is fucking trash. Personally I think 'Earth' was overhated, 'Freaky Friday' and 'Professional Rapper' are fun ideas for songs. But this project isn't hitting. With Dicky I know I'm not gonna get the best music, but I'd hope it would be at least funny. It is mostly just embarrassing.
It starts off okay 'Honestly' is an okay song, but it feels weird to start with it. ... read more
Honestly this album is a big letdown after a good single with 'Seven'. It ends up being one of the only highlights on this project. It is the only song that is vocally really interesting and I dont even like the Latto feature on it. I have to say that none of the features did well on this project. Jack Harlow's verse on '3D' isn't great either.
'Closer To You' and 'Please Don't Change' are one of the most boring tracks I have heard in a ... read more
About a year ago you couldn´t ignore this guy´s songs in the Netherlands. In the supermarket, in the clubs, on Tiktok, his songs where everywhere. And some of these songs were also absolute earworms and so catchy... some people hated it and others loved it. I have to admit I was a bit sceptical in the start. But after a couple songs I really enjoyed, maybe as a guilty pleasure, I was sold. Some of these songs are ´Vluchtstrook´, ´Hotelschool´, ... read more
This is a record that completely lacks any cohesiveness, it is all over the place. But it does give us a couple really good tracks, but I feel like for every good track there's also a bad track... and then a couple mediocre/decent ones.
Easily the best track on here is 'Doomsday' where Juice and Cordae go bar for bar and go crazy. The music video is top tier as well, but that is what you'd expect from Cole Bennett.
Other tracks I like are: 'Fly Away', with a fun scenic hook by Sheck Wes with ... read more
Okaay I thought, let's give Dream 17 minutes of my life. I don't know enough about his controversies, and what allegations were and weren't true. But I frankly don't really care. These 17 minutes I´ll never get back. I think I could have written these lyrics when I was about 10. Maybe 12 because English isn't my native language... but Jesus this is boring and his voice is terrible as well, monotone, uninspired and unenthusiastic.
It is interesting that I could see 'Spotlight' as a really ... read more
Therapy Session is an album that brings therapy for NF´s fans, as he describes throughout the songs but also therapy for himself. On this album some of the grand, theatrical production is better than it has been on the previous records. I'm still not a fan of it, but it has improved. This record is the most consistent so far, but still not great.
´Therapy Session´, which feels like a better opening track than ´Intro 2´, but that's beside the point, has a good ... read more
With all four single releases Tom didn't disappoint, hitting an insane high with the title track 'Black Friday'. One of my favorite songs of 2023. Also 'The End' was a song I've been enjoying a shit ton.
The rest of the album doesn't miss either. Tom gives us a beautiful bunch of songs about the love between 2 people not working out as they wanted it to be. It is so minimalistic yet so vulnerable, absolutely wonderful.
The violin in 'The End Of The ... read more
Starting this album with 'Intro', which has the line 'Ima keep it one hundred, my music was terrible, learned to get better the more that I made it' is very real and very true. The first minute of this song is already better than his last EP, but I'm still not blown away at this point. Because just before this he is being cocky about being so good and the only one doing this shit.
Somehow he thought it was a good idea to put 'All I Have' and 'Wake Up' on this album too, as well as the ... read more
It is a half decent EP. They really love that drum'n'bass with R&B sound with NewJeans. I'm not sure it is my favorite. Especially with their vocals it feels overly saturated. I'm not the biggest fan of the horns on ETA either. I think the garage house vibe on 'Cool With You' is really nice, makes your head bop and is also a bit of an earworm.
'ASAP' is easily the most annoying and repetitive song NewJeans has made so far.
Tracklist: 48/100
Vibes: 47/100
It is a decent pop record, above average I'd say. But I'm not sure how I feel about a big cooperation telling these underage girls to sing about some of these love topics.... with songs the songs 'Attention', 'Hype Boy' and 'Hurt' I feel like I can see it through the fingers but especially on 'Cookie', where the sexual innuendos are clearly made, I'm really doubting the lyric choices. The girls wanting them to look at her 'cookie' with lines like '(Keep) looking at my cookie' or 'If you want ... read more
Honestly the only thing you can give this project is that the production is crisp, but the choruses are boring. The lyrics are mediocre, at least the english parts. Then there are still songs that annoy me 'Typa Girl' is just so fucking annoying, most of the rapping is very mid as well. 'Yeah Yeah Yeah' has the most boring chorus I've heard from BLACKPINK, it honestly sounds like the most bland EDM track out of the early 2010's. So does 'Hard to Love' and 'Ready for Love'

It's clear BLACKPINK wanted to reach a wider audience with this record, especially targeting an English-speaking audience.
While the production feels more up to date than on previous projects, some of the creative choices are still very questionable. Especially, the 2 featured tracks are absolutely horrendous. I'm not a big fan of either featured artist to begin with, but those songs manage to hit a new low for everyone involved.
The rest of the album feels like an improvement on ... read more
After 'Glimpse Of Us' I had such high hopes for this album, but sadly those expectations weren't met.
None of the other tracks manage to capture the same emotional weight. The song that came closest was 'Die For You'. For the most part, this album feels like a collection of concepts and unfinished ideas. If Joji made this an EP of the first disc it would probably be alright, but the second disc was absolutely not ready to be released yet.
It seems like Joji wanted to ... read more
This album was filled with songs that are 5-6's with sometimes a 3 or a 4, it's very listenable but also not that memorable. He raps about having a hard time writing full songs and that's what shows on this tracklist with a lot of short and 'unfinished' songs.
It's the NF we expect, but with a little more aggressive approach especially on 'CLOUDS' and 'LOST' with some big instrumentals, which sound pretty cool. I think Nate's storytelling is great, especially on a song like 'STORY', probably the best track on here. Rather than talking about his own mental stability he talks mostly about how it is okay to be mentally unstable, 'JUST LIKE YOU' and 'LOST' for instance.
I think other than those 4 songs named above the mixtape is kinda basic/blend for ... read more
After the single 'Holding On' I was very excited to hear more of this band. So high in energy, with amazing guitar riffs. 'Miss The World' and 'Expired Candy' also brought that energy. Sadly this didn't quite translate into the rest of the album.
'Tread Overhead' is a very boring track, with nothing special going on. What the hell is 'Sha La La', you can't tell me you right a chorus without real words in it, use it as a title and think it's gonna work. I understand it is supposed to be like, ... read more
This EP is mostly boring pop trap songs, but ´VALENTINO´ is an absolute bop. And the vocals on ´CITY OF ANGELS´ are pretty decent too.

Getting into this EP as I recently started listening to Skrillex, since the Quest Of Fire album. I thought I had to backtrack through his catalog. Of course everyone knows ´Bangarang´ it's an absolute bop that still holds up in this day and age. Skrillex made some very well produced music, and so he did on this record, but the first half did kinda let me down.
Of course the production is amazing. But on ĚBreakin a Sweat' the vocals just felt laughable in combination with the ... read more
It is alright, maybe a little bit average. Most of the tracks have an overlapping topic, getting money, being thicc and getting head on a drill beat. 'In Ha Mood' is just too repetitive, and 'Princess Diana' without the feature has the same, but Nicki switches it up, which is nice and actually makes it quite a bop. 'Gangsta Boo' is pretty good, with a really cool sample of P. Diddy 'I Need A Girl (Pt. 2)'. But still the sample has very recently been used in a house track 'Ferrari' which is ... read more
