EDIT (63 -> 67): Okaay to add to my previous statement.. I'd say it's definitely not a bad album, I never thought that. There are definitely more than 3 good songs though. I think the real drop off of this album happens after 'yes, and?'. Every song from then on is subpar for me and on a shorter record like this I do expect everything to work well.

I don't think I have ever heard such a monotone record in my life. There are a couple of songs that change it up a bit, but not particularly in a good way. 'Jump' for instance, that chorus is so annoying holy shit.
Vocally she isn't interesting enough to compromise for the similarity in the instrumentations. I think 'Water' is fun, but nothing too great. 'Safer' and 'On and On' would be on the better side of this album. But overall I'm ... read more
What an iconic and timeless album from one of the greatest singers of this generation. I feel like it got even more praise because she took such a long break from making music. Her vocals are amazing, the lyrics are captivating and beautifully sad. Within 11 songs there isn't a single lowlight for me. You can sing and scream along to it. But also use it as comfort music. Overall an amazing record!

It's pretty clear with its critical and commercial success, that this record is going to be a quintessential record for pop music in the 2020s. While it brings back such a fun disco vibe from the 80s. Luckily, it does that time justice with fantastic instrumentation and great vocals and attitude.
This album is almost all the way through an absolute bop, but I feel like the last 2 songs hold it back a little. As they're not bringing the same groove and interesting vibes as the rest of ... read more
Ben´s first real album as an artist. Knowing what he put out now it is nowhere near. But I still don't think it's bad. There are some low lights on this album, but definitely also a couple tracks that show the potential he revealed over the last couple of years. Songs like ´Thank You Next´, 'Uh Huh!', 'War!' which have Quadeca flexing just feels odd, especially knowing him from his Youtube era as well, it's just not him.
I do think a song ... read more
The New Age after all the diss tracks. It is a fun start and it has a couple bops on it, 'Beerus' and 'Red Alert'. But it is mostly mediocre to bad. For instance the singing of Randolph on 'Champagne' is kinda painful. But also the lyrics from KSI on 'Clean' just don't make any sense, Randolph mostly does his thing on these tracks but nothing super impressive. Then the worst song on here is 'Real Name'... the only redeeming quality is ... read more
This is what you call improvement. The production on these songs is way better, KSI's singing improved so much as well. Especially the singles leading up to this album are solid. Sometimes it feels a bit like KSI relies a lot on the features he gets on his tracks, for instance 'Number 2', KSI is definitely the worst. But he does show he can carry songs alone as well with 'The Moment' and 'Holiday'. There are certainly low lights on here as well, ... read more
EDIT (43 -> 36):
As someone who barely watches KSI anymore... I came back to this record expecting to hate on it much more than I actually do. This man deserves some credit for showing that not every Youtuber has to make 'meme-rap'. He actually tried to make a decent record to his ability at the time. Did he succeed at making greatness? No, but there are some fun ideas and different styles he explores. For instance, 'Houdini' has this fun afro-swing vibe, where he does ... read more
Similarly slutty as the last EP but definitely not as catchy as ´Slut Pop´. I still had a laugh though.

I'll be the first to say I didn't like Bieber much in this era when it was happening, it was also 'cool' to hate him. But it does actually have some bops on it. 'What Do You Mean?' is kinda genius.... that turn signal sound is so recognizable and overall just a summer banger. Also even if 'Love Yourself' is a cliche Ed Sheeran song... I absolutely dig it. That staccato guitar is just tattooed in my brain. The trumpet is a bit too much though. Then you ... read more
The fact I was screaming along to some of these songs as a child... I feel embarrassed. She starts off body-shaming skinny people, while supposed to be all about body positivity. Then she gives a rule list to be her husband... I feel sorry for Daryl. After she's booty calling people...? Probably the peak of my shock was when I heard the lyric 'I love it when it's big, cause you can feel it in the crowd, come on bang dem sticks'
Other than that the lyrics are bad, also the mixes on, for ... read more
This record is fucking insane. It's on the shorter side, but honestly, if it were much longer, you might lose your mind listening to this kind of music. It is so chaotic and unhinged, but I'm kinda into it. I'm not familiar with metalcore at all, but this definitely left an impression. Kind of an itch you didn't know needed to be scratched,
I believe this record is meant to portray anxiety, and it does that incredibly well. Not in an agonizing way, but by creating a ... read more
I'm quite dissappointed in this EP after a very decent album last year. This is an absolute snoozefest. The first song is kind of interesting, giving a rockier vibe to the group, but after that it is boring throughout the entire thing

LE SSERAFIM shows us a lot of versatility on this record showing us they can pull off many different styles. From pop to reggaeton to bass house to disco. It makes sure it has something for everyone on this record, but therefore it also lacks cohesion here and there. But I feel like in the K-Pop scene the cohesion on an album seems less important than in Western music.
The intro is actually pretty cool. 'FEARLESS' and 'Blue Flame' are both just absolute disco bops. Especially the 2nd one, ... read more
Edit (92->95):
The fact my man went from dissing KSI to this... it is probably the biggest improvement of an artist I watched with my own eyes. This is absolutely amazing, and a sound I never heard before but already love. Sometimes artsy sometimes glitchy.
Throughout these super interesting instrumentation Ben also shows quite some vulnerability in the lyrics. Lines like 'I want you cause you're easier than nothing' really brought a lot of emotion into these songs for me. And honestly ... read more
Although Billie shines in many different styles, I think this soft, ballady version of her is my favorite.

This album has the biggest hits when I was a child. Personally, some of my favourite pop songs of all-time! Especially the opening track 'Teenage Dream' is probably as perfect as a pop song is going to be. Then it's followed by 'Last Friday Night' which is so fun, with one of my favourite music videos of all time, and never forget that crappy but amazing sax solo! After that 'California Gurls', who would've thought Snoop Dogg and Katy Perry would end up ... read more
This is a fun little laidback EP, combining lo-fi, R&B and jazz in a fun way. This starts off well with 'Rainy Days'. The only minor inconvenience I have with it is the notification at the start, you'll have me checking my phone every single time this song plays. 'Blue' gives off a similar vibe, but it is more boring, mostly because the lyrics make no sense, or I'm missing something... what's "baby, you're all blue" supposed to mean? 'For Us' is decent too, nothing too special, I ... read more
After sweeping up 3 Grammy's for the rap categories I had to check this album out. I love how personal this album is, about his own experiences with racism and black culture getting downplayed. Also featured with some great soulful/gospel vocals and runs along the way. Which especially shows on 'SHED TEARS'.
Some features feel a bit questionable, for instance Young Thug on 'Run' which also features a pretty weak hook. I'm not really a fan of Curren$y's flow ... read more
This first little EP from BLACKPINK felt outdated upon release. While I can get behind the catchiness of 'DDU-DU DDU-DU'. I think the rest of this is really stuck in the early 2010s, which is an era I don't need more music from. That's definitely a sound we should bury.
