Okaay... this is a difficult one for me. I think the topics mgk talks about would be a fitting listen for me, however it feels so insincere when he talks about 'They tell me to kill myself' and such it just comes over as if he's faking it, making it sound like 'I'm sad and wanna kms please listen to my music'.
I'm sure he does get a fair bit of hate (which he also partially deserves) but if he could really resonate his emotion into an album it would help his ... read more
I already hate this bitch after the Central Cee/Madeline Argy stuff, but how are you going to also drop lines about her on your album? You're just being a petty bitch, you're the biggest L of Central Cee's life. Everything else about this album is also horrible. I am so happy this album is flopping, she doesn't deserve any spot in the spotlight.

EDIT (64 -> 74):
After exposing myself to more trap music, I can finally hear the greatness on this record. At first, I didn't really know what to focus on. Lyrically and flow-wise there isn't much depth, but I've come to understand that it's much more about the atmosphere and vocally matching that energy. On relisten, I definitely understand the hype for this album. This is exactly why I love doing these reviews. I can actually view my own opinions change as I further ... read more
Okaay Slim Shady is indeed a character. It has always been controversial, but I feel like it didn't play this much in the dirt. I just don't see why it was necessary to bring back this character and start complaining about the time right now. I think it's fair to bring up stuff like cancel culture as that is something he has had issues with recently, but what the fuck did trans people do to him? And the fact 'It's a character' just doesn't give you the right ... read more
It is incredible how many streams this goofball managed to gather with his music. First of all he is so unlikeable, also on this record, but apart from that It is honestly so terrible. The only thing I can give him is that his voice is annoyingly recognizable. But on some tracks he is more of a feature than the people who are actually featuring, like is this your record or theirs?
He already tries things out with the reggaeton beats on here as well, but it was already trash.

Lol why isn't this as bad as I thought... Before I listened to this I only heard 'Gucci Gang' which I hated so much, and I still do, but there are some funny tracks on here. I mean it is obviously absolute nonsense. But the beats sometimes go kinda hard. And his bars are sometimes just funny bad. 'Smoke My Dope' and 'Molly' are my favorite tracks on here, almost giving me XXXTENTACION vibes, on a track like 'Look At Me!'.

Abel really changed the style with this one. We saw some hints of the synthy 80's sound on After Hours, but this entire album is filled with it and I'm not sure I'm a fan. As an album it is a fun listen, also with the Jim Carrey commentary at the end of some songs and the way some songs segue into each other. But the value of the songs on its own seem to be lower than the previous few records of The Weeknd. There are a couple songs I do really like on this album: 'Take My ... read more
You can already hear Shawn maturing on this record. He probably had a better team around him while making this record. I think Shawn also improves on his vocals on this record in comparison to 'Handwritten' and so does his songwriting on a couple tracks. The emotion he's able to create on a song like 'Mercy' is just beautiful.
The other massive hit on this record, 'Treat You Better', isn't as much for me. I think it's too much in your face and ... read more
This is an album that really helped me through tough times when I was a young teenager. It made me realize I'm not the only one feeling the way I am. In retrospect it isn't the greatest record ever, but it will always have a special place in my heart.
On this record Shawn explains the struggles and happy moments of teenage love, which was just very real for me at that time. Even though the songwriting isn't superb, it felt so incredibly genuine. I mean he was 17 himself when he ... read more
I remember my dad showing me this album when I was a very young, maybe 7 or 8 years old, and I was immediately obsessed with it. I thought it was so mesmerizing and beautiful. While I was just experiencing music for the first time, learning about artists like Bruno Mars and Michael Jackson at that time, this was also something I'd listen to a lot, especially 'Principle Of Lust'. I think it was the first time I felt like music was telling me a story, as if it was a movie.

It's crazy to think that the last full project we got from Rihanna is back in 2016. I think it's probably one of her worst projects actually. It has some decent bops on it, mainly at the back-end. But for every good song there's a bad song as well.
The worst one on here is 'Work'... I absolutely hate it. But also 'Woo' is so not Rihanna. It's clear Travis Scott was involved with this, the heavy auto tune also just discredits how great her vocals can be. ... read more
Even though some of these songs were massive at the time. During the 20s EDM seems to have died out a bit. And the drops on some of these tracks just don't hit the same anymore. On 'Where Have You Been' I like the build up to the drop a lot, but the drop itself feels so dated coated in these dubstep elements. I think it's different for 'We Found Love' as that song resonates so much nostalgia and summer vibes it is still an amazing track.
The rest of the album is ... read more
I loved the red-haired Rihanna era so much. To me this album has some of her greatest songs of all-time on it, 'S&M' and 'Only Girl' as examples. 'California King Bed' is also a beautiful ballad that I think is under-appreciated.
I do think some of the songs haven't aged as well or I didn't even really enjoy them in the first place. 'What's My Name?' is my biggest example of that, it's just boring to be honest, but what else is ... read more
YES YES YES YES. This is absolutely everything I wanted from Doja. When she was going (even) more to the hiphop side, this is what we wanted! This EP she dropped infront of her album is actually really good. It is still flawed, but way more consistent than the album itself.

I think these guys were the best to grace this genre of rap metal. Chester's voice is so recognizable and amazing. He really knows how to resonate the emotion through the lyrics. While Mike brings perfect additions to Chester with his vocals that lie a bit more in the background.
The bit of critique I do have is that it does sound all very similar. This might be because I'm not knowledgeable enough about rock/metal music. But I feel like the first few songs have some distinctions ... read more
It's easily one of Lana's most beloved yet controversial albums. She's very clear about her substance abuse and violence she suffered from her partner. Some people like to say she's romanticizing domestic abuse, which is honestly insane to me. I'd say it's more like someone suffering from severe Stockholm Syndrome or just someone who is into masochistic tendencies, but I'd say it isn't idolizing anything illegal.
But apart from that I think this record ... read more
This album is absolutely horrendously bland and overly saturated. It basically feels like a DJ Khaled record. But some moments are even worse than bland. When Camila Cabello and Ed Sheeran start sweet-talking eachother on 'South of the Border', it makes my skin crawl. 'Your caramel thighs'?! Ed! Seriously?!
Then we get a generous, unwanted dose of Ed rapping, which is always a bit rough on the ears. But especially on 'Remember the Name', where he tries to rap ... read more
As this is perceived as the greatest (hip-hop) album of all-time, it is hard to go into it with an open mind and not get biased by the opinion of others. But after a couple listens I have to say that it certainly is an amazing record. Sonically it is already fantastic. When you just wanna listen to it casually it is fun, it is bubbly, but when you dive into the lyrics it has so many important messages in it that are so important, especially for the black community. You get Kendrick being ... read more
Ye, they tried a little different, less rocky more electronic here and there but still so very saturated and made for the radio. It's still terrible. Ye that's about it.
