On this album Miley doesn't really test herself. It feels like a very easy project to put together. Of course we have the smash hit 'Flowers' which broke all kinds of records. I thought it was fun to have the flip from 'When I Was Your Man' by Bruno Mars in here. Overall it is a decent summer bop.
There is one song that stands out for me, but I'm not sure if it's in a positive way. It's called 'Handstand'. With its sort of dreamy synthy vibe, ... read more
I think it's a cute idea Camila stays closer to her roots making some Spanish songs as well. And most of the songs on here are somewhat cute, but still really basic. I mean the moment you're gonna collab with Ed Sheeran you know what is going to happen, but sometimes Ed can use some relatable and decent songwriting to get away with it. 'Bam-Bam-Bam' isn't brilliant writing.
I guess a couple albums into her catalog I'm discovering Camila is a very mediocre ... read more
Camila's first album as a solo artist is alright. It has some decent tracks like 'Never The Same'. But also a pretty terrible song like 'Inside Out'. It sounds like it could be a melody for a children's show about the summer.
The 2nd half is a bit more stripped down which makes it honestly really boring, nothing exciting happens after the terrible 'Inside Out'. A song like 'Consequences' is somewhat cute but it is too slow.
Overall a subpar ... read more
I think Katy does the bare minimum with this record to stay afloat. It's better than 'Witness', but also playing it very safe. Where 'Witness' could've been credited for at least trying something different and failing. The only good track on here is 'Never Really Over' which is actually an energetic pop banger. I'll give 'Smile' some credit as well as it's an alright pop track, better than the rest at least.

I feel like the downfall of Katy Perry started here. I want to credit her for trying something different... but it went so wrong. The way she likes to act cool on this record is just painful and also results in some of the most braindead choruses ever.
She also just got a big load of cringe over this record by collaborating with The Backpack Kid on 'Swish Swish'. It felt so much like a mom trying to act young with her son. It also causes me to physically cringe whenever I hear those ... read more
All I can say is that El-P and Killer Mike are a great duo. On a couple tracks where they go back and forth it's great. There might be some songs where I'm not really interested in the beat or in the lyrical context. An example is the chorus of 'No Come Down' or even the chorus on 'Get It'. 'Twin Hype Back' I'd say is just a bad song to be honest, mostly because of its predatory lyrical context and sensual talking, I'm not here for it. But most ... read more
You know the kind of art you can appreciate for existing but is just not for you? That's this for me. This record just makes me uncomfortable, and I know that's probably meant to happen. But I couldn't enjoy it. It's okay it's here but yet it made it hard to review, because the subject is portrait in a way it's fitting, but not enjoyable to me. His way of enunciating just triggers all the wrong triggers in my brain. Maybe it's just because they're Irish ... read more
Yes! This album is pretty good. It gives you so much. Even though I was really locked in for my first listen I'm sure I'll discover so much more on the following listens. I have to say I was enjoying the dance-pop parts better than the actual indie-rock tracks on here. But both have something most definitely. But Remi's vocals absolutely shine throughout most of this album. I'm just not really a fan of her vocals on 'Kangaroo', but the breakdown towards the end ... read more
As someone who is quite a fan of some of YUNGBLUD's work... I was honestly shocked at how terrible I thought this album was. I see a lot of people saying he's a 'wannabe edgy' and it's fine to have to take, but I don't think that's the problem here (even though he does sometimes sound like a child, who doesn't like his parents taking his toys). But the production of these tracks is so all over the place and terrible it's insane. It's almost so ... read more
Juice's 2nd posthumous record has some decent tracks on it but mostly feels like unfinished ideas not being fulfilled without the artist being there. I think the subject matter over most tracks is really great and important talking about suicidal thoughts and substance abuse. But a bunch of songs sound quite boring to be honest. A song like 'Go Hard' feels like a little demo on a loop. 'Wandered In LA' feels like they're trying to give Juice a 'STAY' kind ... read more
The Autotuned Chipmunk on the opening track better shut up holy moly that's annoying.
After that I have to say... this EP has one certified dance bop to offer, 'My House', but it's mostly absolute monstrosities. I think 'I Don't Like it, I Love It' is actually such a terrible song and no it's not just because I hate Robin Thicke. It's just the type of earworm you hate. 'Wobble' certainly has the most annoying chorus on here.

Even though Flo Rida is an absolute childhood legend for me... I'm slightly disappointed by this record. I can't accept that he let the 10 year old me sing 'Can you blow my whistle baby'. I can't let that shit slide...
I'll give 'Wild Ones' her flowers, even though it's a bit dated. It's still a bop. But the undisputed best song on here is 'Good Feeling'. Whenever that comes on I'm instantly in a party mood. Although the dubstep ... read more
Holy fuck this is boring... it's not lowkey, melodic or melodramatic enough to be sad, but it's so stripped back it's mind-numbing as hell. It's also impressive how terrible this cover art is. It's almost as saturated as a Tones and I cover. Something else that triggers me is the fact she doesn't write 'i' with a capital. I understand the aesthetic is all lowercase, but I just hate it.
I think 'what would you do?' is a one of the decent tracks ... read more
This EP of Tate McRae is very mediocre. It starts off with 2 songs that are awfully basic. 'that way' is the best track on here, but it's followed by 2 more boring tracks.

The fact that this album is already over 10 years old is insane... the nostalgia is hitting hard.
I do have one immediate 'problem' with this album, and I probably don't even have to tell you which song it is. Even though Ariana's vocals are absolutely incredible, Big Sean's whispering is awkward, the saxophone feels dirty and not in a good way and Iggy Azalea's verse is not gonna save this song.
Luckily, it's followed by some amazing songs. 'One Last ... read more
EDIT (58 → 73):
After a few more listens, I realize I was definitely too harsh on this record at first. Sabrina actually does a solid job carving out her own brand, mainly through her playful sexual innuendos and tongue and cheek comments. Sure, there are still some clear Ariana-inspired moments, especially on 'Good Graces', but who can blame her? Ariana’s awesome.

Homie made homophobic statements, got flamed for it and thought it was smart to make homophobic remarks again on this album? Yet he ended his career right there.
But apart from that this guy is just a one trick pony, the same flow, the same type of boring beats and the same topics. It’s pathetic.
Also homie got a sad Grinch album cover, to just talk about how he’d shoot all the people that come on his way lol. I thought he would ‘attempt’ to sound sad, but I guess he ... read more
As someone who might think a lot of R&B is boring this might just not be my cup of tea. But the fact an ‘album’ of 22 minutes can get me bored is quite impressive to be honest. Like it’s not bad, some of the lyrics are fun and naughty but it is still quite a snooze-fest to me.
The most interesting thing on this album to me is the vocal layering on the first track. Of course ‘Nasty’ has been forced down anyone’s throat who’s on Tiktok and I ... read more
The songs now became even more uninspired and repetitive. DaBaby shows no actual versatility. And when he tries to be versatile on like 'SAD SH*T', it is so unserious it is probably the worst thing he's ever made. The only decent track on here is 'ROCKSTAR'. Both Roddy and Baby have fun flows and the beat is the most catchy from anything on here.
