Rest in peace to Liam Payne. His death seems to be very sketchy... but all that conspiracy doesn't make this album any better and we don't have to act like Liam was an angel when he was still here.
Everything about this album feels uninspired. The cover, the album title and every single song on this record. The entire project sounds so incredibly dated. It just lives in the early 2010's and it should've never been made in 2019. It also looks like the first 10 tracks are an ... read more
Niall's first album going solo and it's not great. I was honestly surprised how much of this album I already knew. I did always think he was probably the least talented singer from One Direction and that shows on this album as well. Sadly his songwriting doesn't make up for it either. It is a bit Ed Sheeran-ish. Especially on songs like 'This Town' and 'Paper Houses'.
I gotta say that 'On The Loose' is just a solid summer banger. 'Slow ... read more
The woman that made herself get the number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for one week for the rest of her life. 'All I Want For Christmas' is a beautiful and iconic Christmas track. But on this album Mariah Carey delivers some other pretty amazing Christmas songs. I love the choir vibes on 'O Holy Night' and 'Gloria', but also the festive feeling 'Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)' and 'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town' can bring. Even though the ... read more
After a disaster class that is called 'Music of the Spheres', Coldplay is able to regain their focus a little bit and make some decent tracks on this record. I'm still not blown away by anything on this record, but it seems like they put more effort into the songwriting this time around. But the cohesion between songs seems to be lacking strongly on this record. Especially 'WE STAY' feels really out of place on this album and also very unusual for Coldplay. It almost ... read more
This supposedly intergalactic album doesn't give us any outer worldly experience at all. All it really does is show us Coldplay seem to be on their last leg after doing this for over 20 hours. The actual idea of this record is obviously cool and fitting for a band like Coldplay, but they completely missed the mark. The lyrics are pretty uninspired, the atmosphere that's set doesn't resemble anything galactic at all and the emojis are cringe as fuck. Lines like "We're ... read more
Avicii might be my favorite electronic dance artist of all-time. He was so amazing at making his music stand out from the crowd. In the 2010s everyone was making EDM and 95% of it was total slop. Somehow Avicii finds his way to create his own sound, while lyrically there's still something to take away from these songs as well. I'll admit it isn't the best lyricism ever, but most of these kinds of songs were all about the drop and maybe the build-up if it was slightly better. ... read more
What an album to be my 300th review! The best debut album of all-time! What a creative masterpiece this is, such an original new artist to welcome to my playlists!
All kidding aside I do actually think Jschlatt is a cool guy and definitely killed it with this Christmas record. His voice honours the songs well. Many people in the last 20 years have tried to do this, but tried to make it too much about themselves. It's about Christmas, it's about warmth and that's what Jschaltt is ... read more
This is some of the least inspired junk I've heard in recent pop. I don't think OneRepublic were ever a great band, but this is really terrible. I mean the album art is already worse than anything Maroon 5 ever had as an album cover (They had the snapchat heart filter on their faces on an album cover; if you forgot.). It just wants to be quirky AI type bullshit. It sucks ass. While your music is so dull and isn't even interesting enough for the fucking radio holy shit.

I think it's cool to see the k-pop groups going solo, but for them to completely transition into western music doesn't really work. I understand that they want to expand their range and audience, but it just gives us a very boring and bland record. It just loses a lot of character when you remove the 'Korean' part of it. I think 'APT.' still has most of that in it with the reference to a Korean drinking game, where Bruno and Rosé are just being silly and ... read more
Knowing absolutely nothing about Cassandra Jenkins or her music I was immediately grasped by the emotion of the first song and for then on I was locked in. I'm always a sucker for indie and singer-songwriter music, so I didn't expect this record to disappoint me, but it caught me by surprise how good it is.
I think the production and mixing is so crisp and neat. I saw a lot of people were involved and it definitely paid off. Her voice sometimes reminded me of the singer of ... read more
We all know this album cover absolutely sucks and is straight up disrespectful to Juice and his legacy.
Okaay, having said that, onto the music… realistically if you put it on in the background and you like his voice… it isn’t all that bad. But when you really listen to it you feel how uninspired this record is. Sometimes it’s just Juice riffing on beats but no actual structure to the songs. It sucks. Also featuring Laroi and Eminem seems possible as they had ... read more
It's sad that someone like Kim Petras is still working with Dr. Luke. Knowing his history with Kesha. But if we look past that and just look at the music... It's alright.
Do I think the dancey disco instrumentals are fun? Yes. Is it lyrically fun and naughty? At times. Are the vocals amazing? No... not really. I think Kim's vocal performance feels way too weak for most of these songs, sometimes it has too little volume and sometimes it's so coated in autotune it barely ... read more
After a historical victory on Drake, Kendrick hits us with a surprise album and it definitely slaps.
He shows so much versatility on this record, even within songs. It is great to see him do so many different styles. Similar bops like 'Not Like Us' in the form of 'tv off' and 'squabble up', but also very wordy and story heavy songs like 'reincarnated', 'heart pt. 6' and 'gloria'.
I do think there are some 'misses' for me ... read more
Okay... even though this might not be the most compelling 'album', it's certainly a great bunch of songs. The songs don't really match each other's energy all the time. Sometimes there might be some influences shining through, which is definitely not a bad thing. On 'Big Mike's' and 'Noah's Highlight Reel' he sounds a lot like Frank Ocean on 'Blonde'. I do think the 2nd is a bit too lacking in instrumental.
I just love how raw of ... read more
GloRilla has been a big upcoming artist, and I've seen so much of her everywhere on socials. Sadly this album gives me nothing at all. I mean flex all you want. That's not really my shit anyway, but her voice, her writing and flow are so not interesting. It's soo intensely boring. 'RAIN DOWN ON ME' is one of the "better" tracks on here but feels quite misplaced on here... mostly being quite promiscuous and then having a gospel-ish Christian song in between? ... read more
I was really enjoying some of the singles for this record and I'm happy to say now that the entire record does not disappoint. I think there's some great soul sampling in these songs with really good verses overall. I do have to say the switching between soul sampled beats and trap beats is a bit distracting to me at times, but in both variants Cordae finds his flow and spot very well.
I have to say I'm just not the biggest fan of Wayne's voice overall, he's got a ... read more
I mean I would love to hate this. But it is actually a decent record. Putting the controversy surrounding Emily Armstrong aside... She definitely has a killer voice. But she can't fill the shoes of Chester. I can see why they kept the name Linkin Park, because at times it does have a similar sound as they used to. But in my opinion with the legacy they had and her controversial persona... it might've been smart to change it. Although this definitely draws more attention towards ... read more
It's a sad reality that I just 'outgrew' Shawn Mendes' music. I still love this guy and I'm happy he's doing much better mentally. His older stuff has had such an impact on me, even though that was technically not as 'good' as this. His music is just not special enough anymore for me. I guess I would like to see him change it up, not stay in the same lane he's always been in for almost a decade now.
I do think 'That's The Dream' and ... read more
Mac Miller's last project is really special... Mac had such a unique sound and voice that he is really able to captivate you with it, while delivering very emotional and sometimes even relatable lyrics. Often would he mumble on purpose, as he struggles with his emotions, which is certainly a nice touch.
You could argue his singing isn't all that special... but I think it just works on this album. It doesn't need the vocals to be powerful or diverse. He's fragile vocally and ... read more
I’d say this is definitely a decent album, it’s not ground-breaking or anything. But the beat selection is really nice, the vocal samples mixed with the trap beats. I think his cadence and flows are very natural, which works really well with his deep voice. It's also cool he has no features on here, but also doesn't need it. His energy and story about his life brings enough to the table make this an enjoyable record.
I do feel like I feel a bit unfulfilled with some of ... read more
