Chris Cornell - Higher Truth

Good, but the production is really questionable.. especially on that first track 😂

Soundgarden - Superunknown

The best of the very best when it comes to grunge.

Chris Cornell is one of my favorite vocalists of all time. I discovered him through my neighbor's old records (stuff like Audioslave, and of course this album). Soundgarden were the peak of its time, and this record shows it. The eerie production is interesting, and the mystery of it all as well as the emotion are definitely present. Songs like Let Me Drown and Spoonman do the heavy grunge sound perfectly. But this album's appeal ... read more

Morgan Wallen - If I Know Me

It's so weird seeing a Morgan Wallen album that isn't hella long.. haha.

MW's debut is okay. This is his first breakthrough into mainstream country and a lot of the songs are very bland and basic, but it's a good choice to put on if you wanna have a good time (though Dangerous is way better).

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication

I have not reviewed in a while.. hello!

I have kind of been in a weird place when it comes to music. I have a tendency of listening to one artist and just that artist for a couple months, and haven't necessarily listened to a full album from someone different in a while, so here we go..

RHCP is an awesome alt-rock band, even if they're really popular. I am a big fan of a lot of their hits, and this album, Californication, is no exception. Alt-rock in general is just a really ... read more

Morgan Wallen - I'm The Problem

This album is..... not bad?
I'm going to keep this short but it's not really that bad of an album. In fact, I think its better overall than his last, which I did not enjoy all that much. This album has much more emotional and slower songs, but it was not 100% country as it felt like a mix of alt-rock and pop in the tracklist. It also has much less bro-country vibes and more piano and guitar centered songs, which I can appreciate. One thing that ruins the experience of this album, ... read more

The Weeknd - Hurry Up Tomorrow

What a great ending to the trilogy. A lot of unique songs here and there as well as some that are inspired from the past two albums. Transitions are really solid too.

Morgan Wallen - I’m The Problem

Production choices on some of the recent singles have been questionable 😂

jschlatt - A Very 1999 Christmas

Schlatt is the goat but $55 for a vinyl with 8 songs is insane :(

Metallica - Master of Puppets

Ah yes, Master of Puppets.

What is there to say about this album that hasn't been said a million times already? It's one of the greatest metal albums of all time! I mean the pacing, the lyricism, the riffs, they're all perfect.

Post Malone - F-1 Trillion
40

It's a country album that's produced like a pop record.. HUH?

I was curious to check this out when I discovered that the tracklist consisted of 15 features out of 18 songs.. 18 SONGS. Who's surprised by another super long country album released nowadays by a popular artist? Morgan Wallen released his double album "Dangerous" back in 2021, and look how that turned out for him (even the bloated "One Thing at a Time" that followed was even longer...) Speaking of ... read more

¥$ - VULTURES 2

Give. Me. A. Break.

Production is terrible, beats are confusing, and what the hell is going on with 530 and BOMB?

I don’t really want to talk about this album because of how much I disrespect Kanye nowadays, but it’s not really worth your time.

Metallica - Load
60

I love the singles off of this album.. but god does it drag on for so long.

I was curious as to why Metallica’s Load and Reload weren’t as praised as their records prior to the black album, and now I can see why. Metallica attempt to make an album similar to that of Alice in Chains or some of the more alternative sounds that were popular in the early/mid 90s. Does it work? Kind of. This is the first album(s) in Metallica’s discography that I’ve had several songs where I ... read more

Metallica - Kill 'Em All
79

Eh, not one of my favorites.

I have to admit that this is a great start for Metallica, with the pummeling riffs and energy throughout this project, but it felt very repetitive to me, and the energy I had at the beginning of my listen slowly started to disappear, unlike their later projects like MOP and RTL which had a lot of re-listenability.. if that makes sense

Imagine Dragons - LOOM

Not my thing, but I can appreciate the shift in artistic direction. If half of these songs weren't on this album, it would have been their best to date.

Alec Benjamin - Older
NR

Why can't we bring back this Alec Benjamin ;-;

This song got me through a lot, and was one of my most played during my Alec Benjamin phase. I'm glad he released this, sadly was one of the last decent songs he released in a while..

Alec Benjamin - 12 Notes

As a former Alec Benjamin fan, I’m not all that surprised as to how safe and bland this album is. Alec Benjamin had a very “basic-pop” effect on his albums, and a lot of the songs on here have the same vocal cords, trap beats, and acoustic guitar melodies. What else is there to say?

Is it bad, though? Not really. Could use a little more work on the lyrics, however.

RE-REVIEW: SONGBOOK

Imagine this, you're just getting into music. You are on a camping trip with your neighbors and one of them puts on this album while sitting next to the fire.

That was my introduction to Chris Cornell.

God, this album is so fucking good. He has such an amazing voice, and man his catalog sounds way better in this "unplugged-esc" version. Pick any song he performed on this record, you won't be disappointed. Chris' screeches and isolated vocals feel very... well, ... read more

Pearl Jam - Dark Matter

What a listen.

I am amazed that Pearl Jam managed to release an album this good at this point in their career. In my opinion, this had the potential to be their best release if it wasn't for some aspects of the production being kind of bad; the drums on this record feel very distant, which is funny because a lot of the promotion for this album kept talking about how great they were. Eddie Vedder's vocals aren't horrible, but they aren't amazing either, I'm not going to be too harsh because ... read more

Morgan Wallen - One Thing At A Time
50

I'm a white guy with a guitar.. can I be famous?

Why does Morgan Wallen find the need to stretch out his albums to this absurd length? His last record was 30 tracks long, and this one is even longer with 36 tracks clocking in at an hour and fifty-two minutes. This isn't even a double album, it's just one album that goes on for wayyyy longer than it should.

There's nothing new or interesting on this album either. Sure, I enjoy the hits more, but the rest of the album is the same ... read more
