Fantastic Production mixed with unexpected song structures and beautiful moments both instrumentally and vocally. This album has a little bit of everything for everyone, I'm sure my rating will go up after a few more listens.
Dramatic and Cinematic Metal that hits different compared to other metal albums.
A very strong start into my Mac Miller journey and excited to hear more from him.
The album that got me into melodic death metal. Changed the way I play and write guitar work and had a huge impact on my metal palate as well.
I always contemplate FFAA's best album. Often I look back at this album and how much it changed the genre. While not the first deathcore album to have singing chorus's, this record is one of the best examples of how to do it well and blend it into the overall concept of the album. Bangers after Bangers with lots of variety as well
Fit for an Autopsy has always played around with their sound. They are considered Deathcore but have always leaned a bit more on the metalcore side with the riffs and choruses. This album is different though. While this record again bridges the gaps between Metalcore and Deathcore, this record is much more straight to the point and in your face and it's just a joy to listen to. Gym album!
I've seen many reviews mention Lorna Shore and compare Netherwalker to them. I don't know if people just don't listen to enough deathcore or if a band has breakdowns and orchestral moments then they instantly get classified under a lorna shore copy. If anything this band is more like Shadow of Intent or Synestia and even then they distance themselves pretty well with this album. This album while not being anything super game changing, is really fun and enjoyable to listen to with ... read more
Honestly really underwhelmed and bummed with this one. I loved their debut, it was a simple sound that felt like they put their heart and soul into the music. This record unfortunately really doesn't feel like that. It's not a bad record by any means and I appreciate that they lean more into the heavier side of their sound, but this album just feels so safe compared to their debut.
I don't think I can say this is their weakest project to date, but It's up there. While the record feels very ABR, it feels generic even for their standards. Some song are really cool like The Cleansing and Dark Divide, and the singles were all really good, but nothing else on this album really does anything for me.
Unprocessed were in their bag with this record. Beautiful Guitar work with complex song structures and really heavy moments make for a very enjoyable listen.
This record is more what I expected from the band. Not the best Thall release I've heard but pretty consistent and has a handful of really good tracks
While many songs don't hit for me, this album is not at all what I expected and has lots of different ideas and is very fresh for the genre. I appreciate the risks that were taken with this project.
This is my favorite Whitechapel album. I know it's technically not deathcore and not nearly as heavy as they are known to be, but I love the versatility and substance this record brings to the table and it is beautiful.
Whitechapel going back to their roots as a heavy as fuck deathcore band with arguably the heaviest album they've released so far
Guitar lead and riff focused metalcore was just so elite in the 2010's. Early ERRA records and Nothing Left to Love are proof of this.
Burden of proof is a really great effort from Benny with beautiful production from Hit-boy in contrast to his usually grimey and dark beat selections
