WE KICKING THIS NEW YEAR OFF WITH A BANG π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯
How the fuck does this album exist in this post-ironic world we find ourselves toiling in? Like this project is not too far off of what I would imagine a Yuno Miles album would sound like; the songs are laughably produced, everything NLE chop them says is cornball as fuck, unnecessarily distracting autotune on some parts, IT HAS MOUTH FART AD-LIBS AND A PLETHORA OF POO POO BARS, like damn this shit was straight ass ... read more
Well the first two songs were enjoyable enough, but it just so happens that I didn't gel with anything else here.
Like, I started to feel as if the songs were trying to make me like them so bad, but would ultimately fall short.
It started to seem pretty frustrating: one song could have a really great chorus but corny verses that didn't flow well ("how i'm feeling", "thatsmycheck.") , while another song could have a couple great verses and a really weak chorus ... read more
I have no idea what to rate this or even say about this album, it fucked my brain for 51 minutes and I'm not sure if that's a positive
so fuck it, straight down the middle
it's sad how the spongebob meme rage scene produces the most consistently good rage songs as of late, like goddamn this was better than the entire 2023 Trippie Redd catalogue ππππ
Is this score really a suprise, considering this is the "Labor Days" apologist you're talking to?
God this album is so incredible. It has a lot to say and says it with an exuberance that's unmated in 99 percent of music, especially today. Despite it literally dating itself in the year 3030, this album will never age a day in its life - in fact, it will outlast all of us, as its messages are considered to be continuously applicable until the end of time.
Production is absolutely ... read more
Forgettable, with some exceptions.
My main problem with frontman Ken Carman is how his flow barely makes sense for the blown out beats he's rapping over. Rage as a genre needs to stray away from the really hit-or-miss style of throwing shit at a wall and seeing what sticks. There hasn't been a truly great rage album yet in my eyes, and to me, consistency is the key. Too many filler songs on this project really kneecap the punch of songs like "i need u" or "Jennifer's ... read more

Goddamnit, I've come to grips with the fact that I like this album.
That doesn't mean it's perfect in any way - definitely far from it, and the comparison between it in and something like the Slim Shady or Marshall Mathers LP is definitely not favorable. He isn't immune to the occasional corny line or chorus that doesn't land ("Marsh" has BOTH for instance), and I'm not always sold on his vocal inflection. THAT BEING SAID, I had a blast re-listening to this ... read more
Edit: Apparently the last song "Colonize the Moon" was combined with a song called "Bone Structure" on spotify, hence the lengthy nature of the song and the long pause which I personally misattributed with a deliberate artsy decidison (average AOTY user moment honestly). Regardless, my review still stands, and I definitely want to re-listen to it every now and then to reaffirm these feelings.
With that said, here's the original review:
Honestly, looking back, this is one ... read more
the mixing is so bad, it sounds like he's rapping into a fan πππ
wow, this Albums In One Minute fella sure is talented, they made Merriweather Post Pavillion AND Loveless?
"I Had to Put Down My Horse in Barbie's Horse Adventure" is the anthem of a generation
this is like rubbing your eyes when you wake up after 3 hours of sleep but instead with your ears

When I made an AOTY account, there were some albums I wanted to just rate close to the majority rating in order to boost the number of albums that I rated (it was really stupid, why did I care so much, whatever). At this point, I’ve rectified pretty much all of my bandwagon ratings that don’t truly reflect my personal thoughts, except for one: “Scream” by Chris Cornell. Now, I have to admit first that I haven’t listened to an entire Soundgarden ... read more
