This album was an experience. And it was an incredible one. The eerie and intense instrumentation of the pianos and horns + the choir like vocals make for such a horrifying experience and Lingua compliments that with religious metaphors.

I love this album and it’s Kanye’s best for me but maybe that’ll change as i go through Kanye’s discography.

Kanye has such a charming flow and delivery and along with his upbeat production which makes use of big bass drums, choral vocal samples, triumphant horns, and various other instruments which makes for such a fun and exciting time.

The punchy bass drums and dark synths of the drill beats and Pop Smoke’s delivery go perfectly with each other. It really feels like these beats were made specifically for him with how well they go together. I used to not really like Pop Smoke’s voice all that much but it’s grown on me a lot and it’s one of the best parts of this album. And when Pop Smoke starts flowing, he really starts flowing.

This album is somehow very different and also very similar to Yeule’s previous album ‘Serotonin II’. I know, confusing.
Things I Liked:
The glitchy, sometimes industrial production on some of these songs has such an eerie tone and mellow tone and the lyrics don’t betray the tone either. The lyrics display symptoms of depression, schizophrenia, and anxiety, even OCD, while also talking about love and heart break. You can even see signs of drug addiction on the song ... read more
