Stripes of The Stone Age 1979 are back with their 3rd album. After Death From Above let me down with their most recent album, I'd hope that atleast Typhoons would scratch that itch I've been having for a rock album by a band I enjoy to be released this year.
I have enjoyed Royal Blood's self titled debut. It isn't perfect, far from it, but it shows that Royal Blood have potential to write decent and catchy rock songs. They still have a far way to go if they wanted to go down as one of the ... read more
Simple fun catchy song. Probably one of their best after their peak in the early 2000s.
Dude this is actually fucking amazing but I still have no clue what this guy is saying. He sounds like he's singing into an echoey microphone while he's holding his nose and it fits the chaos of the instrumental perfectly.
I will probably listen to and review Sonic Citadel at some point when I have more free time.
What you know about rolling down in the deep end when your brain goes numb blah blah idk i cant go two seconds without hearing this song somewhere online shits annoying fr
Alright this is the first song I have heard by Lightning bolt.
This shit fucking slaps but what the fuck is this guy saying and why does he not even sound human.
In my opinion this is the best Bloc Party has been since Silent Alarm. FOUR is a return to formfor Bloc Party. The weird dubstep elements Intimacy are completely gone and replaced with the indie rock instrumentation we all know and love.
I wasn't quite as bored listening to this album as I was with the previous 2. This is way more focused than those albums as well.
This is probably Bloc Party's heaviest album. The riffs on here are quite thick, kinda heavy and a bit stiff, as supposed to ... read more
I remember enjoying this a while back. It's an alright album, some of the songs on here are pretty boring and forgettable, but there are some real highlights here as well.
Honestly I don't really listen to this album anymore, my taste in music is a bit different now and I'm not really that big of a fan of the whole "sadboy emo" shit anymore.
Best songs: Test Drive, Wanted U, Yeah Right, No fun
Worst songs: XNXX, R.I.P., Come Thru
I literally listened to like 30 seconds of the first two songs and I can already tell that this whole album is a shitfest.
Now, if I said that about any other album, this would be unfair. But this one has managed to turn me off completely after hearing the start of the title track. This makes Father of all by Green Day look like OK Computer because in that album I was atleast able to finish a song.
3 OUT OF 5, 3 OUT OF 5 (THAT'S NOT ENOUGH)
6 OUT OF 10, BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME!
Honestly this album has some good ideas and I can appreciate Bloc Party trying something a bit different on their sophomore album. However, for whatever reason, I am just not feeling quite a few of these tracks.
I don't know why, but something about this just lacks the wits that Silent Alarm had. Maybe it's the electronics? Maybe it's Kele's vocals on this not being as frantic as on Silent Alarm?
Honestly the ... read more
These are some of the worst lyrics I've heard on a song since the day I was fucking born.
How the fuck am I extremely slowly getting followers on this account? Like who the fuck genuienly looks at my reviews and is like "hmmm yes good review I like this I will follow this guy." I mean, thanks I guess it is kinda nice, but like...
Anyways, this song? Uhhhh poop balls sex bad it sucks beat make my ear turn into goo and CORPSE sounds so out of place next to MGK. This song tries its apsolute hardest to sound edgy and spooky but it's just so stupid and corny. The instrumental ... read more
There is so much energy to this album it's just amazing. The riffs are extremely tight and catchy the drumming is amazing and the vocal performances by Kele are very charismatic.
There are occasional awkward moments here and there, but damn the highs on this album are extremely high. Very enjoyable indie rock album.
This made me want to go and check out other album in their discography, apparently none of their other albums come close to this, but I don't care, I am now invested in this ... read more
Man this is just flat and boring. I literally get nothing out of listening to this. I guess it isn't that bad, it's tolerable but damn it isn't nearly as fun as any of the songs on Silent Alarm
Relistening to this after listening to Is 4 Lovers is weird because I never realised how many elements I liked on this album were the same on Is 4 Lovers.
The thing is though, this is way catchyer and way better produced.
Best songs: "Nomad", "Outrage! Is Now", "Freeze Me", "Caught Up", "All I C is U and Me"
Worst songs: "Never Swim Alone", "Statues"
WOOOOOOW THIS SUCKS.
This just feels like a glorified demo compilation. A good portion of these tracks are demos of songs that would appear on Vessel.
AND THE FUCKING STATE OF THEM MAN.
Most of these don't sound too bad, the instrumentals aren't nearly as punchy as they were on Vessel and Tyler's vocals sound more awkward on this album. Now, most of these are tolerable, except for Trees. Trees sounds like Tyler is singing with the worst fucking effect imaginable over his voice. It is ... read more
