This is my first time listening to an Alex G album, and I have to say it was a nice experience. I liked the production overall, and the lyrics were often simple but good. I didn't really appreciate the moments where the instruments almost completely overwhelmed the vocals, like on "Is It Still You in There?" And those dissonant violins on "Far and Wide" didn't really make me enjoy the song. Overall, I repeat, it's a nice album.
it drops a bit in the second half but overall it's a great record
edit: I take back what I said, the second half is as peak as the first.
This album goes beyond indie rock: it is jazzy, a bit psychedelic and somehow sweet and chill despite having noise elements. That piano sound so lonely but you can feel all the instruments that surround it. Ezra's voice and lyrics work perfectly in this masterpiece. One of my favourite album of 2020s
what a beautiful mix of emotions
can we all agree that this is a masterpiece of ambient music and more?
my rating remained unchanged but I am more aware of which songs are very good and which are not (drunk and hot girls ruined the album)
great aggressive and powerful record both musically and lyrically that made me discover a new part of metal. But in my opinion around the fur is slightly better
