The third studio album from Dublin-based ensemble the Script, 2012's #3 finds the band delivering more of its emotionally charged, radio-ready melodic pop.
These "crazy creatives" – as the credits giddily put it – have soft-rock grandiosity down cold, and there's no reason #3 shouldn't cream off much of Snow Patrol's massive audience. Non-fans, though, will find the album fantastically bland, and be bemused by O'Donoghue's party trick, which is rapping.
#3 – who gave the green light to that title? – is rock with all the rage and idiosyncracies removed.
Nothing on #3 captures the zing of their earlier material, where memorable pop hooks came thick and fast. Instead, these songs are largely formulaic creations, more concerned with adapting to Americanised spoken rhymes and bland anthemic choruses…
Unless you plan on practicing my healing methods to improve other atrocious music, it would be wise to steer clear of #3. If there was anything musically, vocally, or lyrically redeeming about the album, I’d say at least give it a chance – but unfortunately, The Script has given me nothing to work with.
Their third album, imaginatively titled ‘#3’ is just out and it fits neatly in my dustbin. As David Bowie (one of the greatest exponents of pop rock) once said, “this ain’t rock n roll, this is genocide”.
This album is absolutely devoid of any substance. It's the absolute most boring, corporate 2010s poop rock you could imagine. The lyrics on here are some of the most uninspired stuff I've heard. There's an embarrassing number of rapping attempts, both from the bald guy as well as the lead singer Danny O'Donoghue, whose singing isn't that much better as it appears he graduated from the same school of diction as Ariana Grande, meaning the shit he's singing in the verses is absolutely incoherent ... read more
This album has decent moments with Hall of Fame being an ok song but the rest of the album falls flat and sounds like the band have no ideas on what to write about.

Comment:
I have a slight preference for Hall of Fame (feat. will.i.am) over Hall of Fame, but not that much so I listed them together under Hall of Fame
Let’s just cut to the chase. Kaleidoscope is a decent song. The rest just suck.
Best song: Kaleidoscope: 66/100
Worst song: Hall Of Fame: 2/100 (yeah this is SOOOOOO overrated)
Este álbum não é a pior coisa do mundo como muitos o querem colocar, e acredito que tenha sido o pico comercial da banda. Eles obtiveram seu maior hit com Hall Of Fame, além de possuirem boas músicas neste trabalho, como No Words, Six Degrees Of Separation, If You Could See Me Now e Good Ol'Days. Não acho que a banda tenha entregado seu máximo em sentimentalismo, pois os dois primeiros álbuns cumprem bem essa demanda, mas há um ... read more
