They may not be great innovators, but the Script have heart, and there are far worse ways to be likeable.

It’s packed with over-produced post-Coldplay anthem-pop featuring lyrics calibrated for a generation gnawed by social media anxiety. Listening to it is an edgeless, squeaky clean experience. The buzz, if there is one, is all sugar rush and no sharp edges.

"Inspirational" music for soccer moms

While its pandering isn't as insulting as their last outing, Freedom Child, Sunsets & Full Moons fails to be even remotely interesting. This is the same anthemic pop rock we get from an ocean of other bands. What saves The Script this time around is that they still know how to craft a sweet melody. It makes a few tracks listenable. The first two are actually pretty solid. Just basic.

Lyrics for 10 year olds all these years. They might as well turn adult contemporary since that's what's popular on the UK Charts, and then they might probably sell.
