It is a welcome space-walk surprise, recommended for all aspiring EDM astronauts and Ghost in the Shell cast members.
Deadmau5' new, double album showcases much more finesse and maturity than his past releases.
His most daring and well-executed change of pace of his usual stuff...for the most part.
"While (1<2)" is Deadmau5's most divisive record because he strayed away from the more clubby, hard and electrifying tracks and instead opted for more calmer and ambient sound palette across the record. There can be found that iconic electrifying house tracks in here but for the most part, its calmer and more mellow. This record also has a handful of soft electric piano sections and downtempo ... read more
deadmau5’s most ambitious project, and it also happens to be his best album. The album while(1<2) is a 2 hour long journey with 2 sides. This goes from his signature Progressive House and Electro House style to Electro-Industrial and IDM and even goes into Modern Classical and Ambient throughout this project. And surprisingly enough these experiments work very very well. What Joel does on here is just amazing, it’s a very consistent album with so many great tracks. The track ... read more
Such an ambitious effort from Joel. It is, on one hand, some of the best production technique put to DAW, and, on the other, some of the heaviest bloated tracklist I have ever seen.

Songs like Infra Turbo Pigcart Racer and Mercedes prove that Joel has the ear for incredible pieces of work that refuse to be confined by traditional musical norms. Those are the songs that this album ... read more
A solid showing of adeptness in deadmau5's discography, one that I feel displays a high level of comprehension towards this slow-burn progressive EDM the artist is known for.
while(1<2) shifts vibes and sound a handful of times, with some earlier tracks being a tad too intense for what I expected as a listener. Strangely though, this was a listen that I ended up enjoying more as time goes on, instead of having my energy fade towards the end.
I found myself significantly more drawn to ... read more
I'm so conflicted about this album. First off, I don't understand why this wasn't two different albums. The first half is not remotely similar to the second half, and listening to 140 minutes in one album isn't something that I prefer. I do, however, appreciate his expansion of artistry here. He goes into sounds and instruments he's never even briefed on in other work, and they're at the forefront of this entire project. The piano and occasional guitar, while slow ... read more
