They can keep you both weightless in space and fully anchored to the ground on this showing - no mean feat. Rediscover them.

The album's discreet dance style is pleasingly familiar ... With coproducer Stephen Hague's knack for sculpting imaginative aural spaces, the band creates mysterious waves of melody and rhythm.

Really one of the worst cover albums of all time in my opinion (yes, even including the Creed album covers).

But while this wasn't the worst album I've heard, thankfully, it is the weakest New Order album to date.

There are a handful of good moments here, but nothing as showstopping as highlights from other records and it sort of fades into the background.

There also wasn't much of anything new introduced to the New Order formula or new, exciting experiments.

Brand, New, Shiny Review:

It is a pity that I listen to music while in a pitch black sensory deprivation tank. I'm pretty sure the expressions I made while listening to this album were hilarious, but no one got to see them. Judging by the way I felt, my expressions were a mix between "final girl finding out her best friend has just been murdered", "main character of an existential horror novel seeing something beyond their comprehension", and "the Oppenheimer ... read more

I feel like I probably like it more than most, but it’s definitely a downgrade from the previous material. I do see some charm to this 90’s New Order sound though, especially cause this was the only one released in the decade.

New order discography run-Part 10
A super top heavy album. This is a slight step up from their last effort because there is some great songs here and the first half is pretty good but the second half lets it down completely. New order just seem to have lost the balance their sound used to have between traditional rock instruments and electronic synths. This album can often sound stale and uninspired 80s.
The instrumentals are decently fun and bouncy. The lyrics are some of their weakest writing ... read more
