While it may appear sacrilege to die-hard Megadeth fans, Super Collider could easily become as vaunted and venerated as Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying? or Rust In Peace. It’s the culmination of four years during which Megadeth have continuously raised their game.
Super Collider is so mired in midtempo drudgery and familiar hard rock (not thrash) tropes that it never really connects.
One possible surprise is how little of Super Collider actually thrashes
Truthfully, Super Collider is just a Megadeth album born of complacency and issued with only the faintest interest in remaining relevant.
A contender for the worst metal album of 2013, and worst Megadeth album of the band’s near 30-year existence.
Super Collider, Chris Broderick's final album with Megadeth, is perhaps the band's second most despised record after Risk. But unlike their 1999 dumpster fire, I don't really get the disproportionate hate that SC gets in comparison to other releases of Deth's post-Youthanasia run. Yes, it's basically just a run-of-the-mill radio rock album, but there isn't anything necessarily wrong with that. The final product isn't good by any means, but I'd much rather ... read more
AAAAAND TRAGEDY HAPPENS...
Nothing more sad than hearing some dumbahh say that your washed ass made your worst album after 30 years. Even worse, theyre right. OKAAAAAAAY its not worse than Risk... i think. But ay this is a sad listen. No wait actually this is their worst by score! Oh shit.
And its sad because it feels like theres effort added to it but it all gets totally overshadowed and ignored with the cornball of a sound that this disaster of an album has, and since im a super nice guy ... read more
This is definitely one of the weakest albums from Megadeth so far for sure. A lot of very underwhelming songs with weak writing, not very memorable instrumentals and a lot of cringe moments. This album is easily a weak release and just not that great. I can see why this is a lot of people’s least favorite album from them but I think it’s on a pretty similar level to the album “risk” that they released a while before this. I don’t have any other thoughts besides ... read more
The "hear me out" of Megadeth albums. I don't get the hate for quite a few of these songs. Some I get, but others (Dance In The Rain, Beginning of Sorrow, Forget to Remember) I don't understand the disdain for.
