What sets “Talk” apart from its brethren in this era is the fact that it seems to actually be trying.
It’s still pretty generic, and the production is incredibly eighties, what with the synths and reverb and loud drumming galore. Also, Steve Howe is gone, so what’s the fucking point anymore?

Surprisingly solid, I enjoyed this quite a bit. It feels a lot less synthetic/manufactured than their last couple to me, and the melodies are super strong. Fun guitar work as well. Lyrically it can be a little cheesy at times but it doesn't ruin the album or anything.
