Just as good if not even better than twin fantasy.
Incredible.
Love the anxious lyrics and the overall themes of the album and the instrumentation is gorgeous.
Loved every song except for Connect the Dots (The Saga of Frank Sinatra). Didn't really click with me but it still not bad.
Destroyed by Hippie Powers, (Joe Gets Kicked out of School for Using) Drugs with Friends [But Says This Isn't a Problem], Drunk Drivers / Killer Whales, Cosmic Hero and The Ballad of the Costa Concordia are all the ... read more
Exmilitary is a very great debut. Brutual, raw, entertaining and energetic.
I loved the sampling on here, at least that part is better than The Money Store.
I could also actually understand some of what MC Ride was saying lol.
But other than that, its kinda lackluster compared to The Money Store. 3-4 Songs seem kind of underdeveloped and uninteresting but the rest is gold.

I believe on revisits this album will be even better, but right now its a 95.
Beautiful instrumentation, great singing and especially the lyrics are great.
Some of the best writing I've seen in a long time.
I love Father John Misty's style of humor and how he critiques the world in this album.
It is exactly how I feel about this world that we live in, which is why I can relate to this so much.

NIN's The Downward Spiral has a pretty interesting but rather unoriginal concept.
But I love it.
Anyway, yeah, I love the industrial sound of it and it really makes you feel the main character.
It sounds so great. So hard, disturbing, eerie and powerful.
The lyrics are a bit cheesy and funny at times but I feel like these were intentional for the story it told, because, a person committing suicide in that way how the story made it seem to be, the character would have kind of cheesy, edgy and ... read more
I have a ding-dong, of course I loved this.
Not much more to say about it, I love how crazy it is and how crazy the jazzy influences are etc.
And just how much this thing ROCKS
When I listen to this, I feel so much energy just flowing into my body (at some songs at least)
love this so much.
21st Century Schizoid Man is obviously my favorite but pretty much any song on here could be a top 25 songs of all time contender.
Hail To The Thief, compared to their album previously, Amnesiac, definitely is way more consistent than their previous effort.
But for that, the Highs and Lows on Amnesiac are both higher and lower.
The Highs of amnesiac have some of the top tier Radiohead songs while Hail To The Thief has overall, almost every song just being pretty great. Nothing that is bad or mediocre, nothing that is very incredible.
The Best track on here is the beautiful Sail to The Moon, but other than that, almost ... read more
Amnesiac might be Radioheads most underrated work.
It takes some amazing sonic risks and uses some great genres like Glitch-hop, ambient and even Jazz/Blues as influences on some songs. Best songs are probably Pyramid Song, Pulk Pull Revolving Doors, Packt like Sardines and Life in a Glasshouse.
One of their best closers. The songs that fall into normal Radiohead Rock fashion (Dollars and Cents, Knives Out and I Might Be Wrong) might be the low points on this album and seem a bit uninteresting ... read more
The weak points on here aren't any better than Pablo Honey, but Radioheads The Bends delivers some great songs like Planet Telex and The Bends, later on falls a bit into mediocrity again and comes back with the amazing Blackstar (one of their best songs).
Overall, I wasn't that much more impressed by this than by Pablo Honey but it is way more memorable.
listen, this album isn't really a 10/10 but I'll make it quick:
I just discovered Daniel Johnston and he is one of the most beautiful yet tragic musical acts I have ever seen.
This feels like A Crow Looked at Me By Mount Eerie but about not a loss of a person but a loss of hope and power to live.
And also has the same lo-fi aesthetics. Actually, yeah, this is the most lofi album I have ever heard.
Such a powerfully emotional listen, heartbreaking.
pretty great.
great lyrics,
great sonically sounding songs,
very emotionally potent songs.
every song is very great.
But not perfect.
Jeff Rosenstock's WORRY. is quite possibly one of the few albums that are literally perfect.
There was not one second that was bad on this record.
Every song bangs, the lyrics and the political commentary are great and its also an easy, while complex listen.
To be fair, 91 is the highest rating that a such "simple" album could get of me but its just straight up great.
There could have been things better, but everything was at least good.
This is my review of my first reaction. Please read the edits under it.
In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is INCREDIBLE.
but quite overrated.
I get the concept and what it means for the lead man of the band but it just feels kind of gimmickey, even though it very well feels like it comes from heart. But I just think that, while unique, the Anne Frank themed songs feel a bit overreacted and in the moment.
Listen, sure, her story is tragic but I just think that making an entire album out of a girls ... read more
I gotta say, I only listened to LONG SEASON so this rating is just based on this one 40 min song but I gotta say it was one of the most eye-opening and best experiences I have ever had with a piece of music.
Listened to it in a 1 1/2 hour long car-trip and after I finished it ca. 1 hour after starting to drive I was sitting completely jaw-dropped there and couldn't start another artist's song/album for about 10 minutes.
I watched the movie, so I cant really give you an in depth review of the album itself, because I had to focus on multiple things, but here is a review of the movie from letterboxd I wrote.
Lately, in the last few weeks I've been really getting into Pink Floyd's music.
And I've got to say, Pink Floyd: The Wall is probably my favorite thing they've done so far. I don't think The Wall is Pink Floyd's best album but the album combined with the movie is probably my favorite project/piece of art of ... read more
from the 3 albums of Pink Floyd that Ive heard so far (Dark Side, Wish You Were Here and This)
This is probably my least favorite of them all.
I think it has some very great progressions and song structures, well performed and good lyrics,
and this is probably also my favorite concept that they've had for an album so far but I think it lacks a bit of emotion and also direction. I get the concept and what it says about society in general, but I think it wasn't really commenting on a thing, it ... read more
Perfect.
Better than Dark Side of the Moon, way more personal and incredible soundscapes.
This is eargasmic.
You know, all the old Japanese shit is really some of the best. This and a book called No Longer Human came out decades apart but when I listened to this I immediately thought of it. It just captures the 1930s to 1990s Japanese Feeling and overall vibe so well. Some of the pieces don’t work quite as well (only 2-3) but the rest is pure nostalgia for a time I never lived. Beautiful pieces. So calm, chilling and at the same time sad and joyful. Just the overall attitude of this album makes ... read more
It’s overrated as fuck.
Great album tho.
Sure, it was revolutionary and these sounds and using concepts like these was new at the time but if it was released today it probably wouldn’t get any love.
The concept is just kind of weak and not that creative nowadays compared to others.
It’s just very simple and surface level in a way.
It sounds great, the concept is nice but it’s not the greatest thing you’ll ever hear.
I don’t really get the hate for this album, it’s pretty nice I think.
It has some songs that don’t work that well but it has some bangers.
Sure, some of their weakest lyricism and uninteresting songstructures and sounds but it is still better than many other works of that time period.
It’s not incredible but it is a good record.
Love Radiohead.
it took me many tries to listen to this, every time i started, i knew it was too sad for me to handle at that moment.
this is what i enjoy art for.
sure, a gigantic epic album with incredibly complex production with a lot of effort is nice,
but sometimes, just a bit of instrumentation and incredible lyricism is enough.
this is what i really want out of art.
even though art is a bit of a tough word for this.
but it is exactly what art should be.
