I did like this project, and while it wasn't cohesive as I hoped, most of the tracks were generally good. J.I.D really shows off his fast and slick flows and decent to good writing which can still be improved upon. Still this project is a cut above lyrically from other lyrical rappers that just rely on speed like Joyner Lucas, Logic or Eminem. The production is also very solid and clean throughout, shining on songs like Workin Out and Slick Talk. The one thing I also enjoyed was the ... read more
Coming back to the Saturation trilogy, overall these projects I feel have grown on me quite a bit. These songs are overall great, and I don't have much else to say except the negatives. I hate some of the vocal mixings that pop up often and completely dominate songs like Trip. They really distract me from the song. The message and themes can overall become pretty repetitive by the mid point, and I don't care for some of the songs towards the end, as they just sound the same, except for Waste, ... read more
Most of what happened to me listening to demon days over time had the opposite effect towards plastic beach. I thought it was decent, but nothing more. Over time every track made let me fall more and more in love with this album. I was impressed overall by the amazing writing and production of the first part of this album, totally absorbed by singles like Rhinestone Eyes and Superfast Jellyfish. The instrumentation from Damon Albarn grew on me more and more, and is on total display in songs ... read more
I used to really enjoy the heck out of this album, it was one of my favorites from top to bottom. Coming back to it I've felt more and more frustrated at how I can't enjoy this as much. I think it's still very good, but something about it makes me feel less impressed by it. I still think that some of the tracks are some of my favorites, like Feel Good Inc, Kids with Guns and November Has Come, which are spearheaded by amazing instrumentation and incredible lyrics, which pull together to be ... read more
Incredible
This album reeks with so much raw hostility and aggression that literally makes me want to beat the shit out of everything. The production is top notch, helping to push the violent atmosphere. While typically I like death grips for their sound, the lyrics from Stefan I feel stick out more as well as their themes of control and anger/violence towards several things. The one negative that I thought about was how forgettable some of the middle songs on the album were in terms of a full ... read more
Pretty decent for what I thought would be generic indie rock. The singles on the album are alright, but as a project they fit well together. Songs like Cardiac Arrest and Transpose just overall have a great sound much towards the most of this project. While the lyrics and themes are pretty basic, the songs themselves don't have this problem which I thought they might. The production is pretty clean, and vocal performances are alright. Overall, this is a well sounding indie record, which did in ... read more

Edit- Get Hi grew on me so much that it pushed this album to a perfect score. It seems so striking and different from other tracks and serves as an important point in the album.
This is one of those albums that captures your attention fully from front to back not just by the off the wall, insane production but Danny Brown's overall performance. The listener takes a trip with Brown as he goes through his experiences about especially drugs and addiction and some of his ... read more
After listening to this over a couple years and still telling myself that I still like it I eventually came to dislike every single song on this album. While most of it is still listenable, it basically falls off completely after the first four songs. The worst part about this record is the godawful rapping, which now just makes me question how I could tolerate it without smacking my head into a table in a ball of cringe. The "concept" of this album is very loose and disorganized, and ... read more
I listened to toxicity last year, then all of a sudden I jumped to this album. The one thing that I really enjoyed were the vocals, which fully showed off Serj's range and ability, as well as Daron throwing his own into the mix. The instrumentation and production shined at some points, such as in Violent Pornography and BYOB, but overall they were just decent, nothing special. I really disliked the annoying bits of this album, like in Cigaro and Old School Hollywood, it really dragged my ... read more
