Some nice Gizzard style psych rock. Criminally underrated.
This album finally clicked for me and I enjoy every track, including the interludes, front to back. Absolute masterpiece
It's hard to see myself actually listening to this in my own free time, though I can understand the impact it has had on people, and the sentimental value it has to it. However, the mixing, the vocal performance, the instrumentation, they're just hard to listen to for me.. Not to mention, Toledo's vocal performance sounds so soulless, so empty and impassionate, and it could just be a lack of control in his vocal timbre but to me it just sounds half-assed. Also, just a thought for you CSH ... read more
forgot to rate this one but i believe this is a valid rating for such a fantastic album
it's like blending two of some of my favorite artists: porter robinson, and 100 gecs
I know everybody says it but, yeah, this album was way ahead of it's time. And it's crazy good. Decided to give it a full listen recently and I loved it.
it took me so long to understand why this album is so critically acclaimed, but once i finally relistened to it for like the 6th time it clicked

i doubt there will be a day when i listen to this and it doesn't have my full attention
If people stopped thinking they're ever gonna make music like they did in Now Not Yet, they would probably like this. Change is a natural thing. They aren't gonna stay the same. I see this album as a growing pain
not every song is a hit, but holy mother of god is this entertaining
i was told this was indie folk, not straight up country music... i dont like country music in the slightest.
EDIT: I'll give it another shot and update this
EDIT 2: I gave it another shot. I've been slowly getting more and more into country-like music. This album is NOT straight up country. It's actually way more singer-songwriter/contemporary folk. I like it.
i kinda just tuned this out to be honest, not that it's bad, just didn't catch my attention as much as i wished it did.
EDIT: I gave it my full attention. (70 --> 100)
Beth / Rest is the only reason this album isn't a 100 to me. Cannot stand the sound of that one. However, this is still an overhated album
ahh to have old fashioned bon iver back... not saying his new work is bad, it's just not my kind of thing
