Moon Owl's Mages - Skelly Bones and the Flaming Crown

Some nice Gizzard style psych rock. Criminally underrated.

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly

This album finally clicked for me and I enjoy every track, including the interludes, front to back. Absolute masterpiece

Car Seat Headrest - Twin Fantasy (Mirror to Mirror)
NR

It's hard to see myself actually listening to this in my own free time, though I can understand the impact it has had on people, and the sentimental value it has to it. However, the mixing, the vocal performance, the instrumentation, they're just hard to listen to for me.. Not to mention, Toledo's vocal performance sounds so soulless, so empty and impassionate, and it could just be a lack of control in his vocal timbre but to me it just sounds half-assed. Also, just a thought for you CSH ... read more

Jane Remover - Frailty

it's like blending two of some of my favorite artists: porter robinson, and 100 gecs

Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon

I know everybody says it but, yeah, this album was way ahead of it's time. And it's crazy good. Decided to give it a full listen recently and I loved it.

half•alive - Conditions of a Punk

If people stopped thinking they're ever gonna make music like they did in Now Not Yet, they would probably like this. Change is a natural thing. They aren't gonna stay the same. I see this album as a growing pain

Polyphia - Playing God

just because it's impressive doesnt make it a good cohesive song

Tyler, The Creator - IGOR

not sure why this wasnt rated by me already but it's good :))

Weatherday - Come In

Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning

i was told this was indie folk, not straight up country music... i dont like country music in the slightest.

EDIT: I'll give it another shot and update this

EDIT 2: I gave it another shot. I've been slowly getting more and more into country-like music. This album is NOT straight up country. It's actually way more singer-songwriter/contemporary folk. I like it.

Elliott Smith - Either/Or

i kinda just tuned this out to be honest, not that it's bad, just didn't catch my attention as much as i wished it did.

EDIT: I gave it my full attention. (70 --> 100)

Bon Iver - Bon Iver, Bon Iver

Beth / Rest is the only reason this album isn't a 100 to me. Cannot stand the sound of that one. However, this is still an overhated album

Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago

ahh to have old fashioned bon iver back... not saying his new work is bad, it's just not my kind of thing

On Cosmilk's review of half•alive - Now, Not Yet
"I absolutely agree with your statement on Christian Contemporary Music. It's often that you find plenty of Christian records that focus a lot on the lyrics (which isn't an awful thing necessarily, I've heard groups like Bethel that have incredible lyrics with listenable instrumentations to say the least) and Half Alive is a well deserved break from the CCM scene. Although Josh Taylor often misuses his songwriting gift he was given. God blessed that man with the power to write very powerful, poetic lyrics, but the band pulled a 180 with their new release and gave in to the world's idolization of romantic relationships based around pleasure and secularism. Unfortunate, but they did leave behind this fantastic record which remains one of my favorite albums of all time."
