MAVI has a good yet kinda loose concept going. The execution was well done but still I feel it's missing a bit more personality. Moving above the piece of negativity, he does a great job at putting together a dark and cold atmosphere telling stories within his thoughts. Sometimes the energy could be tweaked a bit or the songs can feel a bit tedious but for the most part he's pretty captivating. The mixing has it's iffs especially on the sky is quiet but still enjoyable to an ... read more
It's mall music, the writing is super weak but at least it's a one up from Woman's World..
The production is basic asf and the writing/messaging is GOD awful but overall the track is more boring and basic than complete garbage.
That cover is straight out of my nightmares.

This was an explosive mess that I surprisingly can't let go of. Sure I can kind of understand the whole split score due to the vocals at points but I just can't bring myself to hate the musical aspect. The instrumentals are so dramatic that it steals the show most of the time.

(EDIT: 80-->90) WHAT THE HELL WAS I COOKIN WITH THE VAMPIRE IN THE CORNER HATE?! I must've been tired or something because that song is a banger!
I see the hype. I do enjoy albums as softspoken and ethereal as this. The futuristic dance sound is a good energy to wake up to in the morning. Everything is dreamlike and the bridges are constantly energetic. From beginning to end it's a fun experience with only 2 mood softeners being "Vampire in the corner" and "Feeling ... read more

Am I out of touch for thinking this was a great rejuvenating listen? Maybe. Regardless I enjoyed the atmosphere of this album. Everything is disproportioned and glitchy, paving a creative path using its blocky nature. From the entrance to the LP I feel uplifted and thrilled to hear what's to come. We start off with a spacious intro reminiscent of the Ps2 startup sound then unexpectedly opens a pathway to a killer electric guitar performance backed up with drowning haunting vocals. At this ... read more
She has her moments.. that being said most moments aren't exactly positive. Between the uninteresting writing and watered down Taylor sound, there's not much to look into from a creative aspect. Nothing short of radio safe and stale sometimes, however there's been a few times where she's at the very least given energy and a brighter feeling to some of the records here. Now I'm aware Jack Antonoff has a hand in this and it helps me grasp why this LP came out so ... read more
Jack White makes his presence abundantly clear when grabbing the guitar on this album. The former white stripes member rocks the absolute hell out of each record here with deadly riffs and the spirits of a monster. This style of rock usually feels a bit played out and more dad oriented but Jack manages to bring around a fresh sound to the blues/garage rock genre. The opening track giving more of old school yet well put together production, whether it's the constant chord pattern or the ... read more
To keep it simple. I understand why it gets so much love, I personally love Kamasi. However, when you compare the quality in each track to what's given on "The Epic" you start to see where perfection in his craft truly stands. Great album but not as enjoyable to me as The Epic (in my humble opinion). I know the slander on dream state is crazy but it genuinely doesn't stand out much at all.

Flo Milli creates a project that knows how to be fun and catchy to an extent. Bigger fan of the rap energy over her singing (with never lose me being an exception). That's all you can really give credit for, the LP is fun sometimes. Flo Milli shows personality for the most part but other than that not too much positive to sift through. She still has a lot of improving to do. Also Got The Juice is such a BANGER!

Not too shabby, sad to say that the album quickly falls apart and struggles to stay afoot in a wobbly sea of MID.

EDIT: (50 --> 60) While I still believe this album is nothing more than alright, I've undervalued some of it's highlights and think it deserves a bit more credit where it's due.

Honestly, I know the score is low but I don't hate this album. Very very mediocre in my opinion but I enjoy a select few tracks. Ariana is still a great singer and still a pretty nice writer but when it comes to the contents of ... read more
I'm perfectly fine with this being an unpopular rating, this album goes undoubtedly hard. Endless antics and punk energy leaving no room to catch your breath. An absolute rager full of quick tracks that are filled to the brim with great vocals and reckless instrumentals that leave you wanting to break necks. I also never knew that Oi! was a genre till now so that's a fun little bonus.

Danny never ceases to amaze me, the song is unconventional but catchy and keeps growing on me.
I constantly feel a sense of adventure, I think I can bump this while riding a horse through the Sahara. The highs have a lot of positive to offer while the lows are a bit more dull and could use more detailing. I don't have the last 3 tracks available to me so I'm only given an album packed with 7 tracks and about 3 don't live up to the energy the rest have to offer. Realistically it's near an 80 for me.
