I danced to Hot to go! at a wedding today and had the best time of my life.
Chappell Roan may have a lot of influence behind her but still manages to shine in her own light. She brings lots of joy and color to the pop world on this LP.
The appreciation I have for this album is unmatched. I think Common deserves his flowers for this masterpiece of a hip hop project. Underneath all of the mainstream and modern sensations is Lonnie Lyn, a top 5 lyricist with so much soul and love for the craft. When it comes down to conscious rap and that chipmunk soul sound, Common has some noteworthy listens. As his rapping ability is a concrete standpoint, this LP wouldn't be complete without the Midas touch from Kanye West with his keen ... read more
Goes from wow to meh pretty smoothly.
Anne Clark aka St. Vincent is nothing short of a talented vocalist and well coordinated producer. When it comes to the offerings of this LP each record holds a pretty well structured long winded build up. Everything goes nice and easy for the first half between Vincent's quaint singing and each tracks soft slow push into a rough end demeanor. After the first half you've just about heard everything new there is to offer on this album. Everything ... read more
People keep asking for my analysis on the LP.. So I'm here to give it to you.
Basically, When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks Like a King What He Knows Throws the Blows When He Goes to the Fight and He’ll Win the Whole Thing ‘fore He Enters the Ring There’s No Body to Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might So When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand and Remember That Depth Is the Greatest of Heights and If You Know Where You Stand, Then You Know Where to Land and If ... read more
It's like they just gave up on everything punk and decided to give us radio slop.
For a man over 300 years old he still got it.
It's almost like it was yesterday Chief Keef threatened to detonate my state with explosives🤧. This BANGS and I mean BANGS. Lots of goofier cuts on here that I still enjoy even if it isn't my favorite.
Favorites: Almighty (Intro), Neph Nem, Treat Myself, Jesus, Runner, Banded Up⭐, Grape Trees, 1,2,3, Never Fly Here, I'm Tryna Sleep
Least Favorite: Drifting Away
Admittedly I'm not a die hard Travis Scott fan so I'm late to the party on this one but I did hear a bit of owl pharaoh at one point so HEY! at least I can say more than most. From what I've gathered this is the 2014 mixtape that had been pieced together in order to build hype around the upcoming big shot debut.
Now I've heard Rodeo and I will say that's a high point that I still have yet to see defeated in the trap community. Influences Pushed by Cudi and Kanye ... read more
DISCLAIMER: I DON'T HATE BIG SEAN'S MUSIC
I hate Big Sean's music sometimes and let me tell you why. This album is like walking through a hotel and each record is a different room with something completely different inside. Between Big Sean's boring writing at times and his ok production, I just can't see too many positives. It's like he's made the same track a thousand times, and then he goes and makes this album lightyears long. He only catches me in ... read more
This is a huge step in the right direction for M.I.A. as she gives much more desirable energy. The records here feel much more fresh and well thought out. Creative decisions were made on each separate track giving pep in their step which abled M.I.A. to keep me entertained through just about everything. Also I didn't know paper planes came from her for some reason (I hear it now).
I'm convinced they could play one note for an hour straight and keep me entertained. Absolutes KINGS of experimental rock.
