The album certainly got stronger and stronger as it progressed, evolving from mediocre indie-fare to something truly worth taking note of
This falls apart fast after the first four tracks, which are so fantastic it makes me genuinely upset that he didn't care enough to put any effort in beyond that
Each track is weaker than the last, but Chameleon is such a high starting point the bar remains very high throughout. Perhaps it's a blessing the album is only 4 tracks long..
Do you miss me is weak but the other two tracks on offer here are top drawer
The writing is undoubtedly sharp, but the music is just not there to back it up throughout most of this record
Certainly the most interesting and exciting Lana record. Not all of it works, but it's such a refreshing turn of pace from her more commercial output in the years since that it overcomes a lot of it's issues, with glimpses of the great songwriting that would propel her into the spotlight
two perfect little songs, but honestly how can you really judge a 2 track EP
Loses marks only for that weird I Get a Kick Outta You cover which is bizarrely out of place
Perfect little EP until the last song, which is fine but a bit directionless and indulgent
The rest of the album doesn't quite live up to Goin against your mind or Conventional Wisdom, but it's still very strong front to back
It certainly drops in quality over the last few songs but there is some top quality Sufjan early on in this EP that makes it more than worth the listen
