Beyoncé - BEYONCÉ
85

The strongest and best pop/R&B album of 2013 came at the last second by one of the best artists in the game. She reaches new heights with her creativity, sound, and commercial success. Looking back, this album led to artists doing Friday releases, which is still what is followed here in 2025, 12 years later. This is an album that will stand the test of time.

Miley Cyrus - Breakout
83

This album is timeless. I think it is a great example of an artist's breakout era, no pun intended- she knew what she was doing when naming it. The pop-rock sound mixed with a youthful Miley voice is so good. I will always love this album and hold it close to my heart.

Miley Cyrus - Bangerz
78

What a moment in time the 'Bangerz' era was. Miley created some of her biggest hits like 'Wrecking Ball', 'Adore You', and 'We Can't Stop', while simultaneously triggering half of America due to her new image. The duality of this era is incredible. As time has passed I think the album has aged like wine and was underappreciated during the original era due to people judging Miley's new looks. But when you focus on the music, you find an enjoyable ... read more

Miley Cyrus - Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz
67

Though not an amazing album, 'Dead Petz' is still an essential listen to anyone wanting to try and understand Miley and her career, and for those wanting to become fans. It definitely is weird, and can even be a little off-putting, but if you get past the odd moments, you'll begin to realize that this album has its peaks. 'Something About Space Dude' is easily my favorite track, and one of my favorite Miley tracks overall. But I will be honest, as a Smiler myself, I am ... read more

Miley Cyrus - Younger Now
83

This album showcases a Miley Cyrus who is finally healing and embracing herself. Returning to more of her country-rock roots, with a feature from the iconic Dolly Parton, this album is such a breath of fresh air. Her voice layered with the chill production is beautiful, it makes me want to sit on a beach at sunrise, smoke a cigarette, and stare out on the water.

Ethel Cain - Preacher's Daughter
100

I can't think of any album that has elicited such a strong emotional response from me like 'Preacher's Daughter' has. Ethel's songwriting is otherworldly, and their PRODUCTION... is unbelievable. The story and concept the album follows is haunting, grim, gutwrenching, and yet even a little mournful. I am not one who cries to music solely because of production, but even when Ethel is giving us vocals, I am a wreck. The guitar riff towards the end of 'A House In ... read more

Selena Gomez - I Said I Love You First
75

Wow was I wrong after my first listen. I originally gave this album a 55 on release, I think I was just blinded and/or ignorant to what was really going on with the album. Though it still isn't my favorite album, nor her best work, it still provides such fun songs while also adding some more deep tracks, and features good production from Benny.

LISA - Alter Ego
55

Honestly it wasn't terrible, but the alter-ego's that the album explores, don't mesh at all on the record. And I know that's kind of the point, but it just wasn't executed well enough, it seemed like they were all trying to speak over each other. Future's verse though was definitely the highlight of the album, which is crazy considering it's not his album.

JENNIE - Ruby
76

On her debut album, Jennie showcases her talents beyond that of K-POP. Shifting into hip-hop, R&B, and even more tuned down, softer production, this album showcases her versatility. Though not perfect by any means, it is still a solid debut.

Lady Gaga - MAYHEM
95

Welcome back Mother Monster, we have missed you! Only Gaga can put songs like 'Die With A Smile' and 'Garden Of Eden' on the same album and have it make sense. Dabbling into multiple genres and influences spanning from dance-pop, electropop, soft rock, grunge, and even synth-pop, this record is daring and her most creative yet. Pulling inspiration from artists like Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Prince, Blondie, and Taylor Swift. Like gay people and pop music have never been ... read more

Kendrick Lamar - GNX
90

Coming off one of the biggest years of his career, fueled by beef that led to the spawning of his major hit 'Not Like Us', Kendrick changes the narrative by taking things down a few notches and channeling more love into his music. He blends multiple genres into one cohesive, delightful body of work. But don't think he still isn't the biggest hater we know, and as he should be. There was never a big three, just Kendrick.

Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia
84

'Future Nostalgia' doesn't just change the career of Dua to newer heights, but the pop music landscape in general. I'd even say it revived the dance-pop genre and provided some positive moments during quarantine.

Dua Lipa - Radical Optimism
76

Dua delivers what she is known for with her 2024 release, dance-pop that gets you up and feeling good. However, it is not as impactful and successful at doing so as her previous work. Besides the hits 'Houdini', 'Training Season', and 'Illusion' the album is good, just good.

Billie Eilish - Happier Than Ever
78

In her second studio album, Billie leaves the gothic sound behind and moves more in the right direction. From her angelic vocals and FINNEAS's production, this album is such an enjoyable listen. Though still not perfect, 'Happier Than Ever' just goes to show the only way for Billie is up.

Justin Bieber - Justice
50

I honestly don't know what to say. Mediocre pop songs with forgettable lyrics and instrumentals.

Lizzo - Special
60

After the success of 'Cuz I Love You', expectations were high for this album as everyone was waiting on Lizzo's next move. Which is why everyone was pretty disappointed with what we were given on 'Special'. The album seems almost a bit rushed and underdeveloped, leading to average songs and nothing to ride home about.

Chappell Roan - The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess
85

An album full of amazing songs, lyrical masterclasses, and effortless vocals, serves as an amazing debut album for the up and coming popstar, Chappell Roan. It's bold, fun, and unafraid in its sound, this is one of the best pop albums of the decade. Not to mention it inventing the iconic 'H-O-T-T-O-G-O' dance that took the word by storm.

Ice Spice - Y2K!
70

Though not a bad album by any means, it certainly doesn't add anything of substance to the young career of Ice Spice. The production is similar to what we say with her debut EP, but somehow not as entertaining. But as for her bars... killer.

79

Ice came out swinging with this EP, especially with the deluxe edition released later on. It has undeniable bangers like 'Deli' and 'In Ha Mood' that were definitely song of the summer contenders. This should be just the beginning for this new rap princess, I mean securing collaborations with Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift BEFORE your debut album is an honor of its own.

75

If you take this album too seriously, it's easy to write it off as not good. But if you just have a little bit of fun with it like Sexyy Red does, it honestly has its bops. With the addition of the deluxe tracks on the reissue, it only gets better.
